After the success of The Coach House at Ruxley, owner John Evans and manager Felice Mutti decided the natural progression was to go into partnership together and open a second Italian restaurant.
By offering the same high-quality produce for which the partnership had become renowned, with fish from Billingshurst, meat from the very best sources and an extensive and much-acclaimed wine list, Due Amici soon became hugely popular and it wasn't long before the restaurant firmly established a reputation as one of the most sought after in the area.

I can't think of a place where I've had better Italian cooking outside of Italy!
We went on a Saturday evening at 18:30 and there was already a wonderful atmosphere and a warm Italian welcome from the staff.
We had Bruschetta (what else!?) and an anchovy fillet stater followed by chicken in cream and mustard sauce and lamb cutlets in a red wine sauce. Desert was Tiramisu, Profiteroles and an Amarreto sponge cake (yes we had three puddings between two people - we couldn't pick!).
All of it was excellent but the Bruschetta, Chicken, Tiramisu and Amarreto sponge where really exceptional! Fresh

They serve very small portions of veg sides for the money we paid. Also its not the kind of establishment that we expect screeming kids to frequent. It's an expensive restaurant and we paid a lot of money for a night out which was partially spoiled by screening babies. I've got nothing against children at all but babies in such a restaurant is not right. However the service was good and the staff were very pleasant and the food was delicious. There should be nights that babies are not allowed. Sorry but that's my view and that of my friends and we've all had children.

What a lovely lovely Italian restaurant! We went for lunch today with Joan, a lady who is 100 years old and part of a group that I volunteer with. She's been going here for 25+ years and it's certainly shows - they staff all know her, and treat her like family. All the staff are extremely nice and funny, makes it a fabulous place indeed. A quite expensive menu, usually I don't do desserts, but here I had 3 courses... Oh my. The dessert trolly 😍 And the chocolates at the end of the meal. I wish I had something on my doorstep like it.

Great location and very friendly staff. As a vegetarian, there's often not much to eat at these kind of places but the menu had plenty and even a couple of vegan friendly dishes. Also, plant based dishes are often a ignored but these really focussed on doing the vegetable well and we're not an afterthought. Genuinely really liked the food and the experience. Would definitely recommend.
