Growing up in Norway I developed a close relationship with woodworking, carving and wood house construction. Many of my teenage years were spent on building sites constructing traditional timber houses with my family. I developed a keen interest for these traditional wood crafts, but also a passion for the minimalistic, organic, and highly functional shapes which is the epitome of scandinavian design.
These interests were carried with me to my degree in the UK, and on to my business as well. The thought behind "random lights" is that wood is an organic material and lends itself beautifully to organic shapes. I wanted to embrace highly detailed and sculptural shapes in my designs, giving each angle of the lamp changing aesthetics.

Services
Randomlights are sculptural lampshades handmade in Norway from a variety of beautiful hardwoods. Each lamp is intuitively designed using the characteristics and response of the material and aesthetic spontaneity during the creating process. I design and make all the lamps in my little workshop in the lovely countryside of Norway.
All the designs can be altered to accomodate your requirements. We can change the wood, size, shape and finish for any of our lamps. For large alterations I will send a picture of the assembled piece for approval before it is shipped. We also offer a complete design service to craft you your perfect product.
