We serve great food daily, using locally sourced food where possible. To avoid disappointment it is recommended to book in advance especially over weekends & holidays by calling 01655 750200. We have created a new private dining area in what was Curiosity Gift Shop, suitable for a variety of private events.

We have 2 real ale hand pumps serving our resident ale from the local Ayr Brewing Company and a guest ale which changes roughly once a month. Other draught beers include Caledonian Best, Guinness extra cold and regular, Tennents Lager, Heverlee Belgian Lager 4.8%, and Olde English cider. We also have a fine selection of malts.
What a gem of a place, this is my second visit to this part of Scotland and I specifically book as many meals there as I can fit in. Proper food, fresh, tastefully presented, delicious, super friendly staff and locals, a hard place to beat. Went to the Kirkmichael Arms yesterday for the first time for a family lunch.

The food is good. The service is good.
I felt like anytime we asked a question it was a very short reply. Like we were an inconvenience.
If you want a good meal better than your usual pub grub this is the place for you.
Any allergies and you'll get something but don't expect a straight forward answer.

My Mum and I have been up in Ayr for a few days. We found this pub by accident. Absolutely beautiful "proper" old pub with hand pulled ale!
Lovely strong coffee and the wild mushroom pie with mashed potato and mixed green vegetables was to die for Beautifully creamy mash and lush puff pastry - not a soggy patch in sight! We couldn't eat it all, so the lovely lady behind the bar put it in a takeaway box for us. We'll definitely be back again to work our way through the menu! When I eventually move to the area, this will definitely be my weekly jaunt, no matter how far away it may be. What a friendly

What a truly lovely find on our holiday travels. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. The menu (specials board) was massive but the chef nailed every dish. If we were around longer I would go back every day to try the other 10 dishes I fancied - the choice was that good. For a bit of novel naughtiness try the home made mint aero cheesecake pud - heaven. So pleased to see a roaring trade after the troubles of the last 2 years.

We were staying at a holiday cottage up the road and decided to try the local pub for food. If you have a dog you can oy eat in the bar and unfortunately you can't book a table in there, only in the restaurant. We were advised that it gets busy on a weekend, so we went early doors. The food is excellent quality and very well presented.
I had a happy accident as I ordered the mushroom pie but was served the steak and sausage one, the land lady was very apologetic, however the steak melted in my mouth as it was so tender.

Absolutely one of the best places to have a drink and a meal! Best fish I've ever tasted, not to mention they allowed oue 10month of Belgian Malinois x German shepherd in for his first pub visit! Couldn't be happier with the service and such friendly staff and locals! 100% reccomend for anyone wanting a well priced meal especially if you have a pupper!

If your anywhere in the area, you must visit.
A modern yet, traditional pub within a welcoming and friendly setting.
Excellent food that I would give full marks for. You can tell a good place when they take as much care with the quality and presentation of the children's food.
Although not something I would normally see I had a steak and sausages pie with mash and seasonal veg. My son had sausage and mash which also came with seasonal veg.
Now the important part.... The food was to die for usually I find that seasonal to be undercooked, but not here cooked to perfection. Real mash and most
