E A Foulds Limited, based in Colne, Lancashire, was established in 1907 as a general engineering and millwright business, servicing the needs of the local textile industry. The company was founded by Ernest Albert Foulds at the turn of the last century. He had previously worked as an engineer at the De Beers diamond mine in Kimberley, South Africa.
