We have been baking in Lowestoft for around 130 years, so we reckon we know a thing or two about baking! We only use the finest and best quality ingredients. Flour is of course a main item, and this comes from a local miller who uses traditional milling methods, and has an excellent reputation for consistency and service.

We only use the natural fermentation method of production. This means our bread and rolls are allowed to rise and develop naturally, without using lots of additives. This maximises taste and texture. We only use the minimum amount of salt required in all our products, and we have already succeeded in reducing our salt usage by over 10%.
Services
In those days, there were lots of bakers, all vying for the same customers, so to survive; you had to offer good wholesome, value for money products. The motto was, and still is, "you only get out as good as you put in". The original shop and bakery were demolished in the early 1960s as part of a local road improvement scheme.
Bread is so versatile. You can have it already sliced for sandwiches, or you can cut your own to your own preference. You can eat it as it is, butter it, toast it, fry it, use it as an ingredient, and when it is quite stale - you can feed the ducks with it! We make an ever changing and evolving variety of bread.
As bakers of long standing, we are of course aware that not everyone can enjoy traditionallly baked and made products. Some people cannot tolerate gluten, or sugar, or may have particular dietary needs. We have a new range of "free from" products that are made using the same values and care. Being Bakers since 1883, we reckon we know a thing or two about baking!
To offer the freshest product possible, we have installed baking facilities in most of our branch shops all the things like beef and onion pies, sausage rolls, Cornish pasties, Eccles cakes, apple turnovers etc. are baked off as they are needed. In some shops we have a hot plate facility that ensures your pie or pasty is kept piping hot.

Rude, rude, rude! How this woman stays in business is beyond me. Didn't get round to eating as the assistant was so unhelpful and was "not prepared" to cut an onion up to accompany our tuna sandwiches

When it came to pricing up for our wedding cake not only were they very reasonable but they went of their way to accommodate those of our guests with special dietary needs plus they came up with the perfect design for us. They went above and beyond what they needed to do as nothing was too much trouble for them, they are so friendly and accommodating also.

Do not waste your time going here, they shut half an hour early and are not prepared to cut up onion. The Lady that was "meant" to be serving us had a stinking attitude and quite frankly, could not be asked to serve us!
