The Queens Hotel on the Leeds City Square was a perfect find following our long journey from DC to Dublin to Manchester to Leeds. We just followed the "way out city square" signs to exit the train station, turned right, and there it was!
The lobby was elegant and had an aura of grand-old-hotel-of-byegone-era. Reception staff were gracious and accommodating. We had reserved the dinner and breakfast included package and were so impressed with our chef's presentation of soup, salad, roasted chicken and sea bass. The menu was diverse, and the 28 pound per person dinner allowance allowed

Didn't stay here i was only meeting friends for drinks, so as for the accommodation i have no idea.
The lounge bar went in stages of being insanely busy to being dead, strange thing was it took about the same amount of time to get served regardless of crowd size, which was very frustrating.
Staff seemed to be busy making and serving drinks but i'm not sure who to, perhaps there are functions going on that this bar serves, but service was painfully slow.
Pleasant enough staff and very accommodating bumps up my stars from 2 to 3

Maybe it's because I stayed at "cheap and cheerful" hotels for the rest of my time in England, but I swear I heard angels singing as I walked into my room at the Queens. The door opened at full swing (unlike my hotel in Leicester!). I didn't need to insert the key to turn on the lights (unlike my first London hotel!). There was a full bathtub rather than a teeny tiny stall shower! There were toiletries! And the TV was almost American-sized! I had a great deal on Expedia, so my room was barely more than US$100, and I was absolutely thrilled by everything I got for the price

I've never actually stayed as a guest at the Queens Hotel so I can't comment on that, but I've attended a few work galas here and the experience is always top notch.
I've been to three such occasions here, and I'm always amazed at the grandeur of the place. You feel like a Hollywood celebrity walking in and seeing everyone in their fancy gowns and tuxes against a glamorous backdrop of marble statues, huge ceilings, sprawling staircases and sparkling chandeliers. It's the kind of place that I would have daydreamed coming to as a little girl wishing she was a princess

Had a wonderful afternoon tea at the Queens with a lovely group of people. The staff were friendly and even helped us take group pics which was lovely of them to make time for us.The interior was stunning and the crisp white linen and napkins was sheer luxury however I annot say the same for the high tea th sandwiches tasted like they had been kept made for some time in a fridge (not very fresh) the Ham in the sandwiches had a lot of fat and gristle and the cakes were excessively dry and not too appetising. For a fee of £15 per person this was excessive for the quality of food. We had a great

Can't really comment on the hotel, but I did take a group into here recently for a refreshment break in the Queens Bar.
The Art Deco interior and very high ceilings create a very styled room, which was good for our short visit there. Not sure how I would feel about staying in there for very long, and definitely isn't somewhere to visit as part of a bar crawl, but if you're out to try and impress someone (such as a date!) then I'd suggest you could visit here early in the evening.
Drinks seemed pretty reasonable too, although I did only have a coke it cost £1!

I love the look of the hotel internally reminds me of the shining now I havent seen it for a while so people might think I'm mistaken but I dont think many people will disagree when I say the hotel looks amazing.
The room was a standard hotel room, I didnt have an issue with temperature controls and the wifi was free so maybe things have changed since the previous review
Breakfast was nice, standard hotel set up but the sausages were nicer than most hotels Ive stayed in the only bizzare thing is sitting people right next to each other when the entire place is empty, I like a bit of space

I've been wanting to stay at one of those ice palace hotels they have in Sweden. Ever since discovering their existence, thanks to the 007 franchise, it's been a mild fascination of mine. However, after my experience at The Queens in Leeds, I don't know that I'm so thrilled about it anymore.
See, it's one thing to be bundled up in a heavy parka, surrounded by giant glistening blocks of ice, and going to sleep in warm faux fur bedding. It's another to be taunted by a seemingly ineffective climate control panel, huddled shivering under the covers on my single bed at

Whilst I've not stayed at the Queens Hotel, so can't comment on the service there, I have been here recently for a conference. The Queens Hotel kindly hosted the most recent Experience Leeds meeting and I was pretty impressed by their service and space. The meeting rooms toward the back of the ground floor, accessed via the lobby, are very grand - reminiscent of a high ceiling Victorian building (which I would imagine is the case as it appears to be a rather grand old structure) - with plenty of space, long thick curtains and a plush carpet.

Tired to say the very least!!
Great location just by the train station but that's as good as it gets. Room badly in need of a refurb which I can understand but combined with filthy frayed net curtains!!
Breakfast did little to lift the spirits. Poor service and a grotty looking cooked breafast selection which looked like it had been under the hot plate for at least an hour. Had a yoghurt, beans on toast and was pleased to be checking out.
1/10. In need of investment and a new management team!!

Queen's Hotel is a beautiful building right in the centre of Leeds. I visited the bar and restaurant so don't know what the rooms are like, but the dining room was beautifully decorated, in a way which really showed off the elegant architecture. Slightly hungover, I opted for soup, whilst my date chose fish and chips - the lunch menu is fairly simple but adequate. I was a bit disappointed with the soup, which I thought was a slightly mushy, but the fish and chips were excellent. The restaurant was lively, with a real mixture of diners. The only thing which put me off a bit was the somewhat

In the heart of Leeds just outside Leeds City Train station this is one of the oldest hotels in Leeds. My visit was part of a Christmas Dinner with work and I can't therefore comment on individual rooms or service as an indvidual but as part of a group of around 100 people we found the food to a high standard and the waiting staff and bar staff very friendly. So often on these christmas do's the food is substandard but thumbs up to the Queens.

Plush and quality are the two words to describe this hotel.
I actaully went to my friends wedding here and it was beautiful.
The staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble - they really did know their jobs well.
The ballroom was decorated beautifully and the food provided was tasty and well cooked.
The rooms were spacious and well decorated much better than the usual chain hotels you get in city centres. - and the bed was really comfortable - I often have difficulty sleeping in strange beds but here I had no problem as I felt comfortable.
Its a bit pricey so it is not somewhere I would

I stayed in a single room in the queens just after it had been refurbished. The room was huge, the bed was queensize and the bathroom immaculate.
Usually when you stay in single rooms they are just that single beds with no windows.
The bar area had a nice ambience for through the week and the food was just as you would want it to be exceptional

Quite a pleasant hotel, centrally located, nicely decorated rooms, nice enough staff, had trouble locating them on a couple of occasions though.
Spent a couple of nights here, I feel it's more of a three than a four star, general amenities are a little dated, but clean and tidy and you can't beat the location.
