I strongly recommend women's self-defence training with Marcus Houston. I have been attacked twice and attending a one-on-one training in self-defence manoeuvres could have been quite stressful and unpleasant. Marcus, however, was very patient, calm, and sensitive to unpleasant memories being stirred up.

We started with separate moves and built up to strings of moves and strategies for self-protection, imagining various scenarios. We also revisted my previous attack experiences and I learned new ways of responding even in situations that had felt hopeless. I now feel empowered to take care of myself as much as possible in situations of threat.
Services
Established in 2009 the CR Gym is a private bare bones athletic training and martial arts facility. Our training is rigorous, and for those willing to put in the time and effort, results are guaranteed. The gym is available to rent to outside organisations for classes, seminars or for holding personal training.
Krav-Maga was created and developed by Imi Sde-or (Lichtenfeld), Israeli Grand-master (1910-1998) who started Krav Maga in the late 1940's whilst serving as Chief Instructor for hand-to-hand combat and combat fitness training for the Israeli Defence Forces. The system has been adopted by the Israeli Defence and Security Forces and has been used in some of the most severe combat settings of this century.
Natural Sprit International (N.S.I.) is Professor Kelly S. Worden's system of defence which has been formulated over his career in martial arts spanning decades. N.S.I. teaches you to defend yourself in all ranges of combat using solid principles of defence. In short a lot of the material includes western boxing, American kickboxing, thai boxing, modern arnis and American Sombo.
The Tactical Edge system was originally created by Mark Davies as a close-combat system for Special Forces and as such it had to be suitable for use by someone after they had performed a long and arduous infiltration carrying a heavy load, a weapon and were fatigued. Or by someone who was in less-than-perfect condition in an escape and evasion scenario.
The class will slowly introduce you to drills that allow you to develop your stand up, clinch and ground game. We will develop your striking skills on focus pads and kick shields working with partners. We will look to counter takedowns and how to escape from positions on the ground. The class uses a lot of fun drills to develop you as an all round combat sport athlete.
