Our best practice states that all vehicles are deep cleaned with detergent and hot water before being thoroughly disinfected. Our best practice states that all operatives wear one use PPE throughout the cleaning process. All Practical locations employ a full 2 metre social distancing procedure for customers collecting or returning rental vehicles.

We have a dedicated Customer Safety procedure and all locations have access to a full range of protective screens, protective equipment including hand sanitisers, gloves, aprons and masks. We understand that returning your rental vehicle to the same location does not suit all our customer needs therefore we can arrange for you to collect your hire car or van in one location and drop it off in another. With a large number of rental franchisees nationally we can offer this self drive hire facility throughout mainland United Kingdom.
We can offer 12 weeks to 52 week leasing contracts to suit your needs. Whether you are looking for a temporary car whilst a factory ordered vehicle is built, you are a new starter or you just don't want to commit to longer term leasing, we can help. What is included in a short term lease? The vehicle is delivered to your door, no older than 12 months old and comes complete with road tax and breakdown cover.
Motorhome Hire is the ideal way to explore the U.K. You can tour anywhere within England, Scotland and Wales at your own pace with one of our highly specified Self Drive Hire Camper vans. We have 4, 5 and 6 berth Rental Motor homes available to accommodate all your hire needs. Our Recreational Vehicle (RV) Hire is tailored to suit your individual requirements.
All Corporate Accounts with Practical attract preferential rates. In addition we allocate you a dedicated Head Office Account Manager to monitor your account. Called few days after I dropped back the vehicle asking for deposit and they said to wait 10 days . So called back after 10 days and says the vehicle was damaged. Definitely I not recommend

Totally ripped us off. Hired the van for a gig in Manchester from the Lostock Hall branch, I was very careful, the van was parked securely at Manc academy where no other cars could access. It was impossible for this van to have been bumped. When I brought the van back he said as we went to look over it "oh I hate doing new vans, we have to look for… every little detail" so I knew at that point he was gonna try and do me for something. As we were walking round he pointed out a bump which you could not even see, he had to run his hands over it and instructed me to do so too, in order to pickout

These people are cheaters !! Never used them agin I take the van at 11:07 I was in traffic I call them I will be 10 mint late they said it’s oki but when I get there they charge me for another day cuz I get there 10 mint late so plz ppl don’t use this ppl they are such a big cheaters !!!!!

Monaghan location an absolute JOKE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Booked a van the day before, was told everything was OK. Arrived the next day, seen the van I booked sitting there, but was told; "oh no I'm giving that to someone else" and tried giving me a different van which wasn't suitable for my needs. Wasn't giving a reason, or an apology or nothing, just told "nothing I can do, someone else is taking it" Leaving me completely stranded with no van. Absolutely BRUTAL.

AVOID. We needed a last minute vehicle for a house move and hired a van, extended the lease and swapped over to another van that had some damage, upon return was told there was a new scratch (partner adamant it was already there!) anyway after over a week of chasing them for an update were told today they are keeping our £350 deposit and we owe… them an additional £90 odd pounds. The explanation of the costs make no sense and on the phone alone it changed multiple times. we thought this was suss and upon looking at the reviews on here its very clear many people get conned in

customer service from Hassan was impeccable, fully laid back and understanding approach to renting a van and getting things done on a tight … time frame in this heat.

Tried to book a car with your Redcar branch they insisted on a large upfront deposit that they would not return until the end of the hire period. Very non standard!

Poor experience Bham branch
Advertising price at £80 hire fee, when I called up they quoted £90 hire fee, they were rude and not willing to discuss discrepancy or honour price advertised. I’d rather pay more for honest, loyal and professional service.
Try PFB hire instead guys, service has been exceptional from start to finish!

The most awful minibus ever rented. I booked over the phone and given all my card details then when I went on the day there was no van. The man gave us the dirtiest and uncomfortable minibus I had ever seen. When I returned the minibus on the same day and left the keys through the letterbox, he was still denying that I brought back on the same day and said he only received the day after when he opened the shop again. He was very rude when I talked to him over the phone to return my deposit back.

I have, very sadly, just handed back my Flexi-Lease car yesterday. The service that I received from everyone at Practical has been outstanding and I want to thank Amanda and everyone else there..!!
If you are looking to lease a car then Practical are the company to choose. From enquiry to the day I received my 'brand new' car was under a week and the process is so simple. I had not one day of trouble with the vehicle and the staff were always helpful when I rang up.
Although I have now purchased my own vehicle I will be using Practical again in the very near future for another Flexi-Lease vehicle

I hired a van from Ash Motor Services(Practical Car & Van Rental, 73 Watery Lane, Birmingham) last week. The attitude of the service is very poor. When asked you to provide ID documents, the old gentleman (look like from South Asia) behind the counter treated you like criminal. The worst thing is when I return the van the next day, I refilled the oil tank as required at their petrol station. As usual, the diesel was pumped into the tank until a sound was heard and the pump was automatically stopped. However, when I paid for the diesel cost I used, the old man asked her staff to refill the tank
