If there's a fault with your line it's only the responsibility of your service provider (eg BT, Sky, TalkTalk) as far as the master socket. If this is of the current standard, and it may well not be, it should be possible to remove the lower portion of the faceplate to reveal the 'test socket'. If the line works to this point but not when the faceplate is replaced then it's time to give us a call.
Your service provider assumes everybody has a current style master socket installed. This is not necesarrily the case. When you are trying to report a fault they will always ask you to go to your master socket and remove the front. The socket shown top left is the first of the recent range of master sockets designed to enable the customer to perform a self diagnostic check on their line fault.
There are two main qualities we look for in our broadband connections. Speed and stability. Whilst slow download speeds cause much frustration an unstable connection needs to be avoided at all costs. Many of the broadband problems we encounter are caused by poor or incorrectly connected internal wiring and sockets which result in low download speeds and regular loss of broadband connection.
In larger homes or premises there's probably areas where your wi-fi doesn't reach or if it does the signal strength is so low speeds are virtually unusable. There's a variety of ways the problem can be overcome and we offer a range of solutions, some of which are simple DIY installations.
