Dumfries Osteopathic Clinic is based at Lochvale House in the Georgetown area of Dumfries. The osteopaths Julian Leask, Rosie Gibbs and Josh Long practice conventional osteopathy using massage, stretching and manipulative techniques with an emphasis on being gentle. All our osteopaths specialise in cranial osteopathy which is suitable all ages and states of health.
If you would like to discuss your suitability for treatment Julian, Rosie or Josh would be happy to call you. Some patients only need a single treatment, others will benefit from a course of treatment and others see their osteopath periodically to manage problems over a longer term. Both Julian and Rosie are particularly interested in treating ante natal and post natal women, and children.

Services
On your first visit you will be asked about your symptoms; when they began, what makes them worse and whether anything relieves them. Combined with a detailed medical case history, this gives the osteopaths vital clues about the causes of pain and how best to treat them. The osteopath observes your posture and movement.
Julian Leask has a broad-based approach with post graduate training in both the cranio-sacral method, postural problems and obstetrics. Julian uses a variety of techniques and is especially interested in cranial osteopathy and care of; pregnant and postnatal women, children and people with postural problems.
This holistic approach to diagnosis and treatment is about identifying and resolving causes, rather than simply relieving the symptoms. This soft approach makes it particularly suitable for the treatment of children and the elderly, although all ages can benefit. In 1917, the British School of Osteopathy was founded and in 1935, a voluntary Register of Osteopaths was set up which culminated in the Osteopaths Act in 1993.

I have been to Julian a few times in the past and always been happy with the service provided and end results, for general wear and tear on the body.
I have just returned to see him again today (after being away 2.5 years) and was warmly greeted, as if I had never been away.
A total professional, who always puts his clients at ease, chatting as he works.
Highly recommended, for his attitude, work ethic and proven results.
