We are a small Residential, Dementia and Respite Care Home in the Strood area of Rochester, Kent. The home is a large detached Edwardian building situated in a quiet residential street. With pleasant views of the surrounding area, it is near to Strood town centre, the river Medway and Rochester Castle and Cathedral.
Grafton Lodge has 20 comfortable bedrooms, most with en-suite facilities. There is a spacious lounge and dining room plus a quiet garden room for reading and relaxing with tea and refreshment facilities. This is a favourite room with residents to host meetings with their visitors. The home has a large patio and beautiful garden where residents can enjoy peaceful relaxation and if the weather permits, gentle exercising.

Services
We (as husband and wife) are both part-time practicing General Practitioners with additional experience of working specifically in Elderly Care. We therefore appreciate the physical, psychological and social needs of the Elderly. Our aims are very simple. We wish to promote individualised person-centred care, whilst offering good quality of life for our residents.
Meal times are an important part of the day for our residents, not just for the enjoyment of eating our home cooked meals, but also as social occasions. It's an opportunity for a convivial chat with friends in pleasant and relaxed surroundings. That's why we make such a big effort to please all our residents, and take into consideration their individual likes and dislikes.
In these difficult and challenging times, it's not always easy for relatives and friends to visit as often as they might like. But that's no reason not to stay in touch on a regular basis! Just email your relative or friend at Grafton Lodge and we will print out your message and make sure they get it.
Like all residential care homes, Grafton Lodge is regularly inspected by the government's Care Quality Commission (CQC), the official independent regulator of health and social care in England, who conduct highly detailed investigations into all aspects of the home's operations and management.

We are licensed to accommodate up to 22 residents at Grafton Lodge. We have 18 single rooms and 2 shared rooms. A convenient vanity unit is fitted in every room, and the majority of rooms have en-suite facilities. Each room is tastefully decorated in a different pastel theme. Central heating and fitted carpets ensure our residents are warm and comfortable all year round.

Grafton Lodge is a fantastic care home. I had a chance to review the care home as an auditor. Very good people from top to the frontline. It is owned by two GPs and operated by a great kind Manager and Deputy Manager. All staff are friendly and smiling, nothing is too much for them. Whenever someone needed help, I observed them to be kind and courteous. I observed some amazing activities while I was working with them. Check their Facebook account to see how they keep people happy and busy. This is not a review I am posting because I had worked with the team. I wouldn’t recommend any care home

What can I say about Grafton Lodge.... home from home, excellent staff from owners to cleaning staff. Fantastic care staff, nothing is to much trouble. Always a well presented home, food is fantastic, very generous portions & always plenty if more is wanted.
A very caring home who cared for my mother, although she could be a very difficult lady at times was cared for by the staff, they went above & beyond. Many thanks to all at Grafton Lodge for the care you gave to Dorothy, you made her last months very comfortable even when she was being very difficult.

A wonderful and loving enviroment , a home that truly cares about its residents and the visitors.
My mother spent several happy years in this home from day one , up until she passed on in June 2018.
The staff are wonderful caring and attentive including Denise Julie and other professional carers.
The Owners Ricky and Leslie are exceptional.
Entertainment and other residents stimulation and well being is a regular feature along with the summer Barbeques and Legendary Xmas
Festivities and party to which all family are most welcome.
I can honestly recommend this recently refurbished , modernised
