Services
In these extraordinary times of great uncertainty, having a will reflecting your wishes ensures that your family are taken care of when you die. Most people would agree that making plans to secure their family's financial future is an important and a sensible thing to do. Yet, many don't make a will and those who do often leave it until they are nearing, or are in, retirement, or until it is too late to do so.
Family law involves all legal aspects within a family covering a wide range of issues. These are often associated with problems arising from a relationship breakdown, often involving children and separating out of finances on the ending of a relationship. Challenor Gardiner will help you deal with every issue you may have to deal with in a constructive and helpful way whilst offering complete support during difficult and challenging times.
Buying property is probably the biggest investment of your lifetime and it's not surprising that people often say that moving home can be one of the most stressful experiences of their lives. At Challenor Gardiner we aim to relieve you of much of that pressure and anxiety, leaving you to get on with preparations for your move.
If you are considering buying or selling a business or taking a lease of commercial premises you will need specialist advice on the contractual and lease terms so you know what obligations you are entering and understand the pitfalls to avoid.

It is equally important to know how you can extend the lease at the end of the term, if you want to continue your business from the same premises, or, how you can bring the term of the lease to an early end without having any continuing obligations to perform.
Whether you are starting up, already in business, on your own or in partnership or a director of an incorporated company, we at Challenor Gardiner are here to help guide you through the complex legal situations, the law and regulations you are bound to encounter at some point in time.

If you have or are buying a corner shop with an off-licence, own a restaurant or involved in a club and want to sell alcohol, we have the experience to ensure you have your applications in order in good time.If you are unfortunate to be having financial difficulties it is key that you talk to someone who can offer pragmatic and sound advice.

Worst experience I’ve ever had just for a simple transfer of the deeds with no equity transfer involved. Had to constantly email and ring them just to find out what stage they were at. They didn’t reply to emails for weeks and came up with excuses on the phone. The two solicitors that were dealing with my case initially were awful, never replied, and then suddenly went on leave. I had to send an extra £700 just to make sure I could complete the next day to then be told it wasn’t actually required... then took them over 2 weeks to send the money back after continuous chasing! It was so stressful

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness
I was not their client but our vendors were. 10 months to complete a simple sale. Very poor performance, adding an unnecessary 7 months of stress to what should have been a quick transaction. Unable to recommend.

Went with CG for our first home purchase. We were very disappointed. They gave incorrect advice several times, and at one stage caused us a great deal of stress and sleepless nights. I would unfortunately not use them again under any circumstances.
Edit Feb 2020: after seeing the response from Challenor below with yet more incorrect information, I felt compelled to add a bit more context. They told us if we used a portion of our mortgage for home repairs we would be breaking the law. When queried with Nationwide, they dismissed their advice instantly, and said we were in no danger of this. We

Sorry I didn’t leave a review the first time I was just trying to be nice but since you are asking for it.
I gave the above solicitor my conveyancing case after the lock down.
I spoke with one of the solicitors she was really nice over the phone and even though the price was a bit higher than others I agreed.
I started all the procedures for the house I called them again they told me I should contact them after my mortgage would be accepted by the bank.
After my mortgage was accepted I was trying to contact them (I was calling for days) when I received a phone call by the sales advisor for

The worst experience I've had. We Constantly had to contact them. They would take ages to get back to us. Once everything had been completed, I found out three months later they forgot to fill in a form which meant we had to pay them more money for a job they claimed to have completed. Very disappointed. If you want a stressful experience these are the solicitors for you.

We've twice used this firm and found them the best yet. Once for a complex trade dispute, the other on a contractual matter. Both times they were highly efficient, skilful and good communicators and we reached a successful resolution much faster than I thought possible. They were also excellent value for money.

Personal experience is poor. A simple Title Deed change and its 2 days away form 4 months and still not completed. Hard to get anyone to reply to you or give you any updates. I would never use again personal. Maybe my case is a one off...

I would like to say Challenor Gardiner was recommended by a friend of mine. I have been delighted by the courteous, friendly and helpful service I have received.Curtis knows how to listen to clients and work with them. His friendly approach, clear explanations, and his efficient, professional, accessible manner helped us through the process of buying our first house. I really appreciate his speed in responding to my emails. We highly recommend him!! Pati and Jacob, Oxford

If I ever needed to use a Solicitor this would be the last on my list. Never expect an answer from any emails you send them. Never expect to talk to anyone other than a receptionist when you call. The sole principal of the firm/Complaints officer is always either with a client, at lunch, or on holidays. That's probably why you can never speak to him or get the reply to your email. This firm would be one of the worst I have ever known
