I have worked at Bryn Y Wawr since 2008 and during my time here I have progressed from Support Worker to Senior Support Worker and in 2012 I became the youngest person in Oakview Care to hold a managerial position when I became Assistant Manager. In 2017, I was promoted to the position of Manager. I have a QCF Level 5 Registered Managers Award as well as a NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care.
Bryn y Wawr is a large Victorian house situated in a residential setting in the centre of the popular town of Llandeilo. Previously a private residence, Bryn y Wawr was converted to a home for adults with learning disabilities in 1985. This impressive property is within walking distance of Llandeilo's many shops and the beautiful countryside that surrounds the town.
The Clynsaer is a beautiful 1930's country mansion situated in a rural location close to the market town of Llandovery. Previously a private residence, The Clynsaer was converted to a home for adults with learning disabilities in 1989 and has deservedly earned its reputation as one of the leading homes in Wales.
Clynsaer House has an Activities Coordinator and an Assistant Activities Coordinator who work closely with the service users and staff to maximise the range of opportunities available. Computing - Service users are supported to develop their IT skills such as using the internet for research, word processing & undertaking multimedia projects such as photo editing.
