Stay in our beautiful house in the heart of historic Hay on Wye or escape in style at Pantechnicon Powys, our spectacularly repurposed truck high in the hills of mid Wales.
Services
Quick with a hammer and drill Cat pops up at shows and is often seen modelling FARMERS' apparel. If you ring the farm you will be greeted with her friendly voice. Ed makes beautiful things out of wood and has his hand all over the farm from beautiful birch tables in the office to cheeky wooden tractors in the shop.
FARMERS' SCRUB is a lavender exfoliating and cleansing scrub in a refreshing and exotic blend of our own lavender essential oil plus oils of geranium, frankincense, ylang ylang and frangipani. This vegan exfoliating cleansing scrub with lavender is exceptionally mild in a triple-whipped creamy base.
Our nourishing coconut and olive oil formula infused with lavender, rosemary and cedar essential oils freshens and gently cares for your precious woollens and delicates, especially made with scents moths don't like. Our new wool and delicates wash comes out of FARMERS' friendship with Daughter of a Shepherd's incomparable Rachel Atkinson.
Tredegar House, reputedly the second oldest house in Hay, is the perfect launching pad for exploring the town's many book shops and independent stores which dot the curving lanes. This timber frame building housed a pub for 200 years. You can just about hear the ancient pub banter as you sit surrounded by oak beams and watch through the windows as the townspeople pass by.
Pantechnicon Powys, or J Rutter Removals as it was called originally, showed up on the farm in the nineties when the late Morgan Price, a shepherd, used it as a storage shed. A few years ago two of the FARMERS' team, Ed and Cat, came up with the idea of turning the truck into a little house. A clever team of craftspeople assembled to do just that.

A lovely lavender farm in the middle of Wales. July and August is when the lavender is in full bloom and even though it was a sunny weekend, it wasn't that busy at the farm. We had a lovely walk around and picked up some lavender products, and had coffee and cake. It's down a long lane, you might start to question if you've missed the turn but eventually you get there.

Underwhelming is an understatement. There are two small lavender fields, a shop, and some picnic tables. Certainly not worth the admission fee. Unless you are on a family outing and want to make a day of it. There's nothing and no one to provide information on lavender and distilling. On the plus side, some nice views of the surrounding hills (nothing to write home about), clean facilities, friendly staff. There are much better offerings in the area. Finally, absolutely ridiculous road access (one car's width road with no passing points for half a mile or so)

Stayed at the Pantechnicon..tastefully converted into a holiday space for 2. Stunning views across to Mynydd Epynt, Red kites and many other birds. Swallows and Bats drinking on the wing from the Swimming pond..Cold but thoroughly worth it if your experienced in cold water swimming. Friendly host and staff..peaceful and relaxing countryside with a hint of Lavender.

Absolutely lovely! Smells amazing and the staff are really friendly. The shop has some lovely products. There's a pond you can swim in, fields you can relax in and a swing too. May seem pricey for some (judging by other reviews) at £5 per person but you're helping to support a local business of nice friendly people and that makes it worth it.
