Motormech started in William Road Guildford before moving onto Slyfield Industrial Estate in the early 90s. In 2006 the company moved to its current location, Unit 1H Cathedral Industrial Estate, and became a limited company. Trading as Motormech Guildford Ltd we are able to offer class 4 and 7 MOT's in addition to motor vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs.

The worst service I've ever experienced.
They will fail your car on purpose on the things which are fine when you leaving the car with them, but hard to prove.
I took my car to them for an MOT and service.
I was sure that car was fine and ready for MOT.
I've asked them to do the service first and inform me if they will find that there is something that have to be done before MOT.
They failed our car anyway as according to them one bulb wasn't working. How strange everything was fine when I drove to them, I wouldn't go for MOT with not working light.

I have booked full service and MOT and ask them to not conduct MOT just to fail it if they'll see anything obvious during the service.
They still failed me on the light bulb, just to them pass me at the same time after I agreed for the sake of it for them to change the light bulb.
What is the point in this?
They've lost me and my family as their customers after quite a few years of using them, as we don't like this kind of nonsense.

First and last time I ever use motormech
My car went in for a cambelt and water pump change first of all they said that euro car part delivered the wrong water pump so had to wait a day for them to send the right one even though it is across the road
so they kept the car from Tuesday night and had it wensday and Thursday Thursday come and I had a phone call from the office saying my car would be ready to collect so if I wanted to make my ways down as I got to the garage the car was still in the air light out wheel off plastics everywhere so I said to the lady behind desk my car dont look ready

I have used Motormech for a number of years but will never do so again. Car booked in all day for major service and MOT. Car failed MOT. Fine... but the point of having the car all day is to be able to call me discuss and hopefully fix what are pretty straighforward repairs before MOT. Not happy with what they did do or charged and wasnt convinced with price quoted for repairs so booked in elsewhere for less than half the price. Since Steve sold up, this garage doesn't have the same level of customer service quality it once had. Says they are part of the Good Garage Scheme on the building and website

I have used motormech a few times now and everytime I have found that the service provided goes above and beyond. It takes a while to find a mechanic you can trust and Barry is now the mechanic I trust. Honest, trust worthy and customer focused, Barry and the team will exceed expectations. The pick up and drop off service is an amazing help too. Clear communication and timely pick up and drop off meant my week could remain on track without having to worry about alternative transport. Welldone Motormech! A service to be proud of.

I used Motormech Guildford last year for a MOT and service - fabulous service, advice and price. I was nervous repeating the same this year owing to recent reviews but gave them the benefit of the doubt. I am glad I did. The MOT and work needed today was carried out efficiently and honestly with superb advice on future repair work likely. None of the three staff I spoke with today pressured me to carry out works not needed and they helped me get the best price. Hope this helps. I am not connected with the company!

I have used Motormech a couple of times (once for an MOT, once to get my brake pads front and rear changed). On both occasions, I've been really impressed with their service. Their prices are competitive, their staff and friendly and welcoming, and the work is done quickly. I would definitely recommend them.

I left my car to have repairs performed “whatever it will take to pass the MOT”. He did nothing to the vehicle, ran it through the MOT and sent me a giant list of necessary repairs. I communicated with him over email while out of the country and he took advantage of my absence. I MOT’ed with him the year before and when the oil was low he topped it… up. This year, when I wasn’t around to make sure I didn’t get taken advantage of, he reported a “serious engine leak” virtually removing my car from the road. Maybe forever. I’d certainly avoid
