Ian founded Meadowfield Garage in 2011 after serving as a master technician for Mercedes, Iveco and Ford in dealerships. A Midlothian man with more than 27 years experience in the trade, he served his apprenticeship at Ferguson Park Garage in Rosewell before specializing in advanced electronic control systems, pneumatic and hydraulics.

UPDATE TO REVIEW ! previous work was perfect then took car back to get a issue resolved with the heating and fans, car was booked in for specific day for repair and investigation of the fault, they eventually had the car 3 days and never looked at it. Took car back booked in for same issue hoping a resolution could be found, guess what ?? Had it another 3 days and still not fixed, although did tell me a blower motor was needed. Take it to Honda !! A 15 year old car i dont think so. So unless u want a tyre or exhaust dont go. Sorry meadowfield but i cant be positive anymore.

Amazing service yesterday, called them at 12pm after hitting a pot hole and dropped the car off, they ordered me a new tyre and called me by 4pm to say the car was ready to be collected. The lovely lady at reception was very helpful, fast turnaround and reasonably priced. So thankful they were able to sort me out so quickly and get me back on the road.

My partners car went in for tyres, which you would think was a straightforward job.
They jacked the car up in the wrong place TWICE! and damaged both front wings at bottom edges.
MANUAL CLEARLY INDICATES CAR SHOULD ONLY BE JACKED AT FRONT and NOT UNDER FRONT WINGS!
£300 repair at Coachbuilders.
(The red car is my car for comparison. Same Make / Model)

The brakes were fixed so badly, I have had to replace brand new pads only a few hundred miles later.
My car went in for discs and pads. After the initial repair, a brake was smoking only after a few miles of driving. Then I put my car back into the garage, this time I had to have a calliper replaced.
After a few hundred miles, after noticing, my mileage was affected, I had this work carried out by another garage, his exact words were, poor repair.
After contacting the garage asking for compensation they have ignored my requests, funny that.
The best part was when I told the other mechanic who

Have used the garage 3 times in the last 18 months and always had a excellent experience, staff are very polite and helpful from the first contact until collection of the vehicle and that includes the very helpful Melisa, the company has a very positive grip of social distancing and that is reassuring in this period of confusion.

My car had a leak from the roof and I was looking for a garage to investigate it. That was the main reason why I went to see them. They said they do this kind of job so I booked it in. By the way I asked for brake check over due to a squeaky noise from the rear wheel (it was a seized brake caliper) & also an annual service. It was the end of February this year. After checking the car they gave mi a quotation which didn`t include sorting out the leak as they haven`t checked it yet. Very disappointed from what I thought was a reputable garage. Car failed its MOT and was told it would cost £250 for the necessary work to pass the retest. Was also told it couldn't be done that day(Saturday) and would need to be Monday. I had no issues waiting until Monday and I told them this. Low and behold a few hours later I get a text to say work has been completed and outstanding balance was £355!! (over 100 more than I was quoted) The mechanic had gone ahead and carried out the work anyway using "slightly more expensive parts" without my authorisation or consent. They knocked some money

Yesterday I took my Ford Focus into Meadowfield Garaage,Newtongrange to have 2 new front tyres fitted. I chose Meadowfield due to the offer of bonus Tesco points , however now that I have had experience of service from this family run business, I would most certainly not hesitate to use them in the future. The initial online booking was a very smooth,informative process with clear instructions and advice given. I was given a time to take my vehicle into the garage, and on doing so I was immediately attended to by a polite,courteous mechanic and was offered either to wait for the tyres to be replaced
