New lockdown in England: It is permitted to travel to a medical appointment and we remain open, however we will be encouraging those clients whose condition can be managed virtually to set up a video consultation as an alternative to face to face. This is to benefit the health and wellbeing of our clients as well as our valued staff members.
TELEPHONE TRIAGE FROM A PHYSIO IS NECESSARY PRIOR TO A FIRST APPOINTMENT BEING BOOKED. We continue to maintain our high standards of infection control for those who need face to face sessions but for those requiring advice through an exercise rehab programme, we will advise a video appointment if possible.

Services
We use a variety of clinical skills including manual techniques such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation, stretching, biomechanical analysis and correction, acupuncture and individually prescribed exercise therapy to restore normal movement and activity. We're also dedicated to the prevention of recurrence of injury and disease.
North Yorkshire Physiotherapy is a team of five physiotherapists, each with their different specialisms: Dallas, Kate, Hannah and Alan (Musculoskeletal) and Charlotte (Neurological). It was purely random that I was referred to NYP. However, it was such a pleasure to be dealt with by such a talented team (Kate, Phoebe and Dallas - there are others, but I didn't meet them). My recovery, from a hip operation, was managed professionally but also practically. I have enjoyed amazing recovery and can now swim, ride and walk some distance after only 2 months, and a small number of treatments.
Physiotherapy is the use of movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice to help people affected by injury, illness or disability (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, 2013). The aim is not only to reduce pain and facilitate recovery but also to restore function and prevent injury and disease.
We do accept GP referrals but it is not necessary. Your GP may suggest you have some physiotherapy but you do not need a referral or even visit your GP before coming to see us. We may, with your permission, contact your GP to inform them of your treatment with us or for any onward discussions with them that we feel you may benefit from.

I had troublesome lower back pain. Kate undertook a full history and assessment and gave very clear feedback about the problem and solutions. Over some six weeks of appointments and a daily exercise regime I am pain free and flexi once more. Excellent service that is both professional and friendly. Thank you so much!

I have used this service twice for sports injuries (aggravated by old age!) I have found them to be efficient, very friendly and good value. In the first instance when there was no response to their treatment I was helpfully referred on to a neurologist. On the second occasion two visits, with easily understood exercises (and downloadable from the internet), was all that was needed to achieve and maintain a gradual improvement.

I have been under Kate's care on an almost weekly basis for 9 months for treatment for a frozon shoulder, and ongoing issues with my hip. Kate is a true professional, & has been of great help. I am well on the road to a full recovery. Frozen shoulders are notorious for taking lots of time to get back normal function, & I am sure my sessions with Kate have dramatically helped this outcome. Thanks again Kate!

Excellent service! Staff are very welcoming and make you feel at ease whilst adhering to strict Covid-19 guidelines which is reassuring. Treatment I received was first class and I am already seeing an improvement in my mobility and flexibility. Would highly recommend and will use them in the future if required.

I recently attended North Yorkshire Physiotherapy with back pain. I was seen very promptly and was thoroughly assessed. The treatment I received was designed to both correct the problem and alleviate the pain. Everything was clearly explained and my progress was regularly monitored.by the physiotherapist.
I cannot fault the treatment and service I received which was carried out and administered in a most professional way and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
