Beautiful place to spend some time. The sounds of sheep, birds and horses provide a restful backdrop. The facilities are excellent, the bed is comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The terrace and garden are welcoming surroundings. There is plenty of room for parking. Rutland Water and the villages surrounding it are well worth visiting (especially Hambleton) and the displays of bluebells are impressive. I would highly recommend the cottage.

A truly beautiful location not far from Rutland Water and a great base to explore from. Caroline, the owner, is very welcoming and helpful.
Decor of the apartments is quite dated and they could do with a revamp but the quality of furnishings etc is very high and the bed was the comfiest I think I have slept in!
Beautiful gardens to wander around and plenty of rambling in the local area so no need to drive really unless you want to. Great pub, Horse and Jockey, is an easy 2 minute walk away and there are lots more pubs etc just a few miles away in the surrounding villages.
Only downside was the

This is a very comfortable, quiet, spacious & welcoming flat in a delightful farm building (no farm animals except in nearby fields). It is very convenient for all facilities of Rutland Water and the local area. The hostess is also very friendly, welcoming and helpful and there is a pub with excellent food a short walk away. Barnsdale (TV garden centre) is also close and worth a visit.
