Stanforths Butchers was established pre war by Jim Stanforth who quickly became well known in the town for the delicious pork pies he was making. After moving to the Millbridge site that the shop still stands on today over 80 years ago, the business continued to grow and the pies became more sought after both by the people of Skipton and the many visitors to the town.
Throughout the years Stanforths have kept to the same recipe and traditional ways of making their famous pies, sausage and other products thus ensuring top quality products through to the present day. Current owner Paul Shearer worked with Alan Stanforth and continues the pork pie making tradition with his long serving staff who bring enthusiasm and customer service to the Skipton shop.

The guy serving is taking cash and then handling the food with no gloves, no hand washing, no nothing. When we asked if he could wash his hands or wear gloves he honestly seemed confused at the problem. In this time I don't see how you can be so blissfully unaware of basic highene. Haven't even eaten the pies and I'm not convinced we should.
