This course appeals to adults, families and mixed groups. There are activities that will appeal to the younger participants as well as more demanding tasks for adults. At the end of this day you will have covered a number of skills that will give you the confidence to spend more time in a woodland environment.
Until you sleep under the canopy of the trees and stars and soak in the woodland night-life your bushcraft experience will never be complete, so this is an extended one day course with the addition of waking up with the dawn chorus. On your arrival, you will immediately be shown how to set up your nest for the night with a tarp/hammock set-up, a few simple quick release knots and an insight into other set-ups.
The bushcraft treks will take us through a variety of habitats where we can forage, observe the flora and fauna and find tinders for fire making. This is not a muscle tearing bolt over the landscape because we will be stopping frequently, searching and hopefully, discovering. Beach foraging is dependent on the tides (particularly at Church Doors).
