Bringing the charm and character of a country pub to the centre of town, The Old House at Home is a historic haven of hospitality! It's the only thatched pub in Romsey, with period features dating back to the 17th century - making it a special place to enjoy great food and drink. In 2010, The Old House at Home in Romsey was awarded The Griffin Trophy - and the coveted title of Fuller's Pub of the Year.
We also won the local category award in 2008 and again in 2012! Come find out why. Here's something you won't find at many pubs - delicious, golden beer-battered fish and chips to take away. The perfect solution when you don't have time to enjoy our renowned restaurant.

Services
The UK's leading premium ale, London Pride is known and loved for its well balanced, distinctive flavour. These beers have been delivered to us, so will be available now or very soon. Due to the care and time required to achieve their optimum flavour, we can't guarantee all of these beers will be available when you visit.
The Old House at Home in Romsey is located on the romantically named Love Lane - just a few minutes' walk from the hussle and bussle of the town centre. The pub stands on the site of a former brewery, meaning beer is something of a tradition here. The pub has its own car park to make life as convenient as possible for designated drivers.

Went on a Saturday for lunch, service was very slow for how quiet it was and my burger when it did arrive was slightly over cooked. No complains from the person I was having lunch with about their meal though. In their defence they did have a sign up in the window advertising for a load of jobs so I'm surprised.

A good clean and comfortable Fullers pub. Good selection of Fullers ales on tap as well as the usual drinks associated with the chain. Friendly and helpful staff.
Large garden area with heaters set up for the colder weather.
Large council run car park a very short walk away from this pub. As well as a small car park owned by the pub.

Very nice looking pub and friendly staff but the fish fingers I were given were inedible. They looked lovely, with crispy batter. I received 4 fish fingers and a handful of French fries for £8.75 Each of the fish fingers were full of large bones.. the fish was obviously cut from the sides of a fillet .. Its put me off going again. It would have been terrible if they had been given to a child. I'm very lucky I didnt choke on them.

Always a total delight to be hosted by The Old House. My go-to public house in Romsey.
I had a couple of visits recently - solo, and also a group meeting one evening in the garden. Welcomed and accommodated nicely on any occasion.
The choice of real ales is always extensive, and some amazing guest ales that are so popular they don’t hang around long!
Service is always second to none; thank you!
