The Windmill Inn
You can stand at the bar! Whilst we're excited to be able to allow customers to sit at the bar, we do ask that the area doesn't become over crowded. We will be continuing to serve drinks in plastic glasses however food will now be served on proper plates, with real cutlery. Ordering food & drinks for outdoor dining.

When the sun is shining & on busy days a member of the team will continue to take food & drink orders from the garden. However, you are more than welcome to pop into the pub and order your food at the bar. Cutlery stations are provided both in the pub and out in the garden. Thank you to everyone who has continued to support us over the past 18 months.
Services
Pete, Jane and their friendly staff work together to make your visit happy, relaxed & hopefully feeling like you've made new friends. On entering The Windmill you can expect a comfy, quirky laid back interior. From saggy leather sofas to new and reclaimed tables and chairs with a roaring fire to welcome you in the winter months.
Cheshire Ale is what we are about, but, on occasions dip our toes into the Peaks for a quick sample as amazing microbreweries are popping up everywhere. Pete, the landlord, is our chief taster and hasn't complained about an ale yet!

The backbone of our ales are; Storm Brewery Macclesfield, Wincle Ales, Mobberley Brewhouse, Red Willow Macclesfield, Tatton Brewery & Weetwood Brewery to name but a few! However do not fear if you're not an ale fan, we also provide a large array of lagers to satisfy all your needs! Our wines are handpicked with our customers in mind.
We think The Windmill is a very special place for any celebration - including; Weddings, Birthdays, Afternoon Tea, Funerals, Anniversaries, Hen Parties, Baby showers and MANY MORE! We offer a bespoke service to cater to all your needs. Landlords Pete & Jane, along with our friendly staff, are available throughout to make your day a memorable one.

We went to the windmill on Sunday with our 2 children and dog. We used to go regularly in the past but stopped going as we moved slightly further afield.
The food was really nice. Good kids menu and nice specials for adults to try something different. Staff were friendly and even though it was busy it didn’t take long for the food to arrive.

Stopped off for drinks with the family during our barge trip down the canal. The outside seating area was lovely, plenty of shade benches which we were grateful for due to the hot sunshine. The service was good and the lady hostess was very accommodating. Will definitely stop here again when we are in the area.

If anyone is a little nervous eating out during Covid, rest assured the landlady is taking it very seriously and we felt very safe eating in. The food was great, real home cooked chips and all food we ate freshly made and tastes amazing. Also for any real ale lovers, the beer was good too!!

This pub has a cosy yet spacious interior and two large garden areas separated into family and adults-only, which is great if you want to protect your drink from ball games.

They have a small but decent range of ales on tap, including a local light IPA and a darker ale. They also had Aspall's cider which is always great to see, especially in summer.

The lamb burger was recommended on trip advisor and I would second that - it's huge with a nice comb of minty mayonnaise and feta as toppings. Bf had fish and chips which he has had before so obviously likes. We didn't have to wait

Just a short walk from bridge 25 (Macclesfield Canal).

Gorgeous food, lovely ambient atmosphere and very good service. A bit pricy (which we weren't expecting!) but was worth it.

The trio of lemon pots (it did have a fancier name!) was divine.
