Why should you choose Lyndhurst Chiropractic Clinic to look after you? You're probably thinking about coming to see us because you are in pain and you want something to change - so we're going to find out where you are at the moment and where you want to get to. We start by taking a thorough medical history, then an orthopaedic and neurological examination.
When appropriate we measure blood pressures and look at other medical signs. These standard procedures tell us a lot about the the tissue that is hurting, but they don't tell us enough about why things have gone wrong, how the problem is affecting your day-to-day life and what you actually want to change after seeing us.

Services
We are always delighted to discuss any problems or concerns that you have, either over the phone or in person. Give the clinic a ring on 023 8028 4666 or drop us an email and one of our chiropractors will call you back. Patients frequently mention headaches, and once we have established that there is nothing of concern causing the headaches, we can discuss whether chiropractic care might be useful.
The first consultation takes an hour, and a treatment session is 20 minutes. If it has been more than a year since you have been in, or if you want to discuss a new problem we need a 40 minute reassessment appointment. Your recovery is dependent on many factors - the problem, the length of time you have had it and your own commitment to any rehabilitation exercises and check-up visits which your chiropractor may recommend.
Many of the problems that we see every day in practice are created or worsened by our postural and movement habits. The Alexander Technique is a skill for self-awareness teaching you to change long-standing habits that cause unnecessary tension in everything you do.
Whatever your age or ability, the Technique can help boost your performance in any activity and relieve the pain and stress caused by postural habits, like slouching or rounded shoulders.Everyday reactions like tensing when the phone rings, rushing to pick up the children from school or worrying about deadlines lead to physical and mental strain.

In the simplest terms, Chiropractic is a licence to treat patients who are in pain or who want to change some aspect of their physical wellbeing. Just like with doctors, dentists and osteopaths, the UK government provides the licence via our regulator, the General Chiropractic Council.
There is no upper or lower age limit on the patients that we see and while Chiropractors are commonly associated with treating back pain, we look after a wide variety of musculoskeletal problems from head to toe. There is more information on our 'Where does it hurt page. Chiropractic is the name of our profession and it does not define what sort of treatment we undertake.

Can't praise enough for how good Matthew is. Professional, knowledgeable - and most importantly solved a longstanding issue which had me in pain. I didn't know what to do next following a number of unsuccessful trips to the GP, luckily I was pointed toward Matthew and now it's no longer an issue, the pain is gone.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Leading a fairly sedentary life at a desk left me with a legacy of lower back pain. Matt Garfath of the Lyndhurst Chiropractic Clinic explained exactly what the problem was, what he was going to do and how long it would take to settle down. He was absolutely right and everything was sorted out. Everyone at the clinic is extremely friendly and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
