They made me wait 4 months for a wood burner. In the time I needed it the most, winter.

I purchased a FP18i inset fire 10 years ago and have had excellent service from it. I have just replaced the full set of firebricks for the first time which was a simple task to do. I must say reading some of the comments I was reluctant to purchase the spares from them, however they are the manufactures so I thought they should be the right place to start. I have to say the customer service was first class from the technical sales lady to the 48 hour delivery in incredible packaging. I have no hesitation in recommending this company.

Poor design, expensive, inefficient, battery operated and a total waste of money!
Bought this very nice looking, very expensive fire from an independent retailer in Ringwood. Unfortunately, you need to take the fire apart in order to frequently change the batteries. The manual control also is battery operated which is acceptable. In the four years we have had this fire, we have managed to use it, not without difficulty, no more than six times. We have had the service done about three years, which proved to be not only needless but a waste of money. When we bought this fire, the retailer told us

I'm not surprised to see that other reviews for C&J received 1 star due to poor customer service. To cut a long story short, we incorrectly ordered a P5 CF fire. This is not C&J's fault. The fire was part of larger building work, therefore was supply only. The box was opened but once our engineer realised it was the wrong type of fire, it was not installed. The seller was completely closed to communication during lockdown, and we therefore tried to resolve the issue directly through C&J. We were given 3 different reasons, over the course of 3 months, as to why C&J would not accept a return on the

I would recommend that prospective buyers avoid this company and their products particularly their gas fires. We have had nothing but problems with a inset gas fire we purchased in 2019 the fire just keeps turning itself off.
We have had engineers visit to try to fix with the last engineer making us feel we were the problem and not the fire! We will never buy another C&J fire, you buy a gas appliance to be functional but we’ve end up with an expensive ornament in our lounge!

Bought spares for my fireline stove; glass, seals, bricks, rope and riddling grate. Service from the lovely lady in the spares department was excellent and with a couple of other items which they didn't supply ( paint and rope glue ) I now have virtually a new stove for less than £150.00 plus a couple of hours work. The whole exercise much better than my expectations.

I purchased a Paragon P9 BF gas fire from this company at a cost of £3000 and I might as well have bought a glass box with twigs inside it. The fire is less than 4 years old but has been broken more than working in that time. The faults started one month after purchase and it has been nothing but useless since, finding an engineer is a major problem as the fire is so different but dont expect the company to help you, they are rude and unhelpful, basically, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

For a very expensive fire it's very disappointing to have to replace the batteries in the fire quite regularly even after a long time since being used ie Summer. It also shuts down after around 15mins running, been let down by the Service Engineer(not employed by Charlton) who after explaining the fault to him and Charlton agreed to speak with him at our house while he looked into the fault. Needless to say, Engineer won't return my calls to book him in, so now i need to try and get someone else to service and look at the fault while conversing with Charlton.

I own a Paragon One gas fire and a Fireline FP8 and both have been amazing.
There are several 1* reviews on Google and I cannot fathom why, a fire cutting out after 15 minutes is either spilling fumes or overheating both of which are installer faults. The rear ceramic brick of a stove cracking is normal and can happen anywhere from 2 hours to 2 years into use, if it has fallen apart it has been knocked with a log, overfired, or wet wood has been used as mine is now 5 years old and still working (yes it's cracked but fine). This should be explained by your RETAILER.
