We consult with our customers on product design to ensure the end result works perfectly and is cost-effective to produce. Our precision gear sizes range from 4mm P.C.D to 400mm P.C.D, with a module from 0.25 to 5.0. in any machinable material. Gears can be hobbed, shaped, skived or gear-ground if required.

Stanley Herbert Muffett, founded the business of S.H. Muffett in 1920. Stanley Muffett started his career as an apprentice at Arnolds of East Peckham, Kent. After he had gained some experience, Stanley entered into a partnership with another engineer, Mr Moon. Together they built up a small business in car repairs at their premises in Newton Road, Tunbridge Wells.
With leading expertise in gearing for almost 100 years, the Muffett name has become synonymous with exceptional service and quality in the manufacture of precision gears, gearboxes and other precision-engineered components. We are typically involved in the conceptual design stage to ensure the final production process is cost-effective and the gear application works perfectly.
Expert turning for precision engineered components with state of the art CNC lathes. The essential backbone of any precision machining facility, where we combine eight state of the art CNC lathes and highly skilled and committed engineers to get the very best out of every project.

With our 6 axis simultaneous machines using 3 turrets and 2 spindles, we can mill turn in one operation where others take two or even three, and this method of machining ensures competitive cycle times faster throughput and dimensional consistency.With high specification experience across a diverse range of machined components, gears, drive shafts and assemblies we guarantee accuracy and an exceptional finish.
By offering our clients the complete manufacture to assembly process we can bring down costs and turnaround times whilst still increasing quality standards. Assembled parts may also require functional testing, whether this be torque, load testing or mechanical testing, our engineers will work with our customers and help design the most appropriate inspection/test.
