Approached by a wooded drive of nearly a mile long, this superb Scandinavian style manor house offers an extraordinary, luxurious experience. This magnificent property was built in the 16th century originally as a Tudor hunting lodge. At Yarner you can open your window, or step out onto Dartmoor's only private 180' panoramic view of the Wray Valley.
We are delighted to share this wonder and offer exceptional bed and breakfast accommodation, exclusive weddings and events in this idyllic historic setting in the heart of Devon. The Yarner estate extends to just below the summit of Haytor, a beautiful granite Tor once visited by Queen Victoria and still enjoyed by many.

Once governed by William the Conqueror and mentioned in the Doomsday book, Yarner's surroundings are steeped in history. Having been a popular hunting site in Tudor times it has distinct connections with Henry V11, Henry V111, Edward V1 and Queen Mary. Thought to have had a hunting lodge settlement where the current house lies on its grounds during the Tudor dynasty.
We have put in place a number of specific measures to make Yarner House as accessible as possible. If you have specific needs, please do contact the team prior to your visit who will be happy to answer any queries and look to make a stay or visit as easy as possible.

Annoyed and dissapointed
Visited your Xmas market today 8th Dec.
Surprised at your £3 entrance fee!!
Didn't say nothing about that on your leaflet .
£6 for two ppl, £6 wasted, waist of time.
Would not of come if we knew about the entrance fee
Very small and little amount of stalls!
Nice location though, just need to rethink your strategy. We won't be coming back. Left us with a bad feeling. No drink or mince pie included in the entrance fee.
Great to raise money for a charity, but not like this!
My wife is actually feeling angry .

After driving in a beautiful and quiet woodland road we finally discovered the stunning Yarner House and the friendly Phoebe and Lily who warmly welcomed us. We stayed 3 nights in The Wray Valley Room and we particularly enjoyed having a private bathroom across the corridor and the fully equipped common kitchen which makes us fully feel like home.
The Yarner House is a castle like country house with the most fabulous view on the Dartmoor National Park and it looks even better in real life. I'll never forget the morning sunset view from our bedroom and the afternoon Cream Tea in the garden.
Thank

We had a wonderful stay at Yarner House. The room (Silver Suite) was furnished to a very high standard and had a wonderful large Moroccan bath overlooking the window. The house is just inside Dartmoor with panoramic views for miles around and very close to walks, attractions (e.g. Becky Falls, Haytor Rocks) and great pubs/restaurants.
Lily and her mum were perfect hosts and provided a delicious breakfast every morning. There is also a kitchen and lounge available for self-catering. Highly recommended for a relaxing break, and we would definitely return.
