Donations, offerings and tithes very often make up the largest volume of bookkeeping transactions. Every week these include standing orders, envelopes, the plate and, of course, Gift Aid. Income & expenditure booking for events, wedding fees, bookstall, hall hire, investments, etc. and for the various restricted and designated funds - men's group, women's guild, youth club, lunch club, building fund, etc, etc.
Full budgeting facilities for each fund with variance and remainder reporting provide an important means of safeguarding against overspending. Rapid budget generation from historic actual or previous budget figures. As well as day to day reconciliation and status reporting, the financial statements required for the trustees and elders meetings can provide a daunting challenge.

Services
With Paxton, you're in good hands. Since 1979, we have developed and supplied the accountancy software to a multitude of organisations, including a wide range of charities, churches and companies, as well as writing the definitive software system for service funds accounting within The Royal Marines and The British Army.
And it includes free Paxton Cover, so if you do need help, we're at the end of the phone for you. Paxton Online includes all of the facilities and functionality of the PC version of Paxton Church Accounting, including proper multi fund church accounting, comprehensive donations and Gift Aid management, and Charity Commission 2015 reporting.
There are two versions of Paxton Church Accounting, Standard and PRO, and you can run both of then on a PC or on the Cloud. The Standard package includes full multi fund accounting for income and expenditure, purchase ledger, budgets, donation bookings including standing orders, Gift Aid management with claims via HMRC Charities Online and Charity Commission SORP compliant reporting.
One of the basic requirements of Charity Commission reporting is that the accounts data distinguishes between money that can be spent on anything and money that can only be used for restricted purposes. This package has a general fund that is completely free of restrictions and then handles as many further designated/unrestricted, restricted and endowment funds as you require.
The Paxton Church Accounting PRO package provides a comprehensive range of facilities tailored to the specific accounting needs of churches, including all the Standard features as well as a sales ledger, invoicing, foreign currency and project processing. Sales accounts for cash and credit customers can be created and set for processing in any currency.
