I grew up locally and was at Exeter School for seven years. Back then I wanted to be a doctor. These days I help our clients with a different kind of headache - showing them how to use their business as a way of achieving their goals. In my spare time I'm passionate about music and rugby. I sing in a local chamber choir and sometimes we provide cover when a cathedral's main choir is on holiday.

When we were designing our current website, we also started to think about how we could give back to the community. We decided that whenever we completed a set of accounts, did some tax planning or took on a new client, we would also make a donation to charity. Merlin Accountancy is a breath of fresh air. My business switched to them in 2018 and we have no regrets. The service we receive is a fixed price package and spread over monthly payments, so we always know the costs for accountancy services. Previous accountants charged by the minute and the breakdown of charges were lacking, so when invoices came through they were often a surprise and it put us off getting advice when we really needed it. About four years ago, when my wife suggested that we changed from the accountancy firm we were working with and went with Giles at Merlin Accountancy Services, I was a little reluctant.
