The Red Lion is nestled in the peaceful, idyllic village of East Haddon, surrounded by picturesque Northamptonshire countryside, just a few miles from Northampton. We are handily placed with ready access to and egress from all major Motorway routes, with M1, M6, A14 & A1 all being within easy reach.
Our warm and cosy pub boasts an intimate lounge area, large dining room & manicured gardens - making it a great place either as a hideaway from the cold winter's weather or somewhere to quietly luxuriate in the warm glow of a Summer's day. We are delighted to announce the launch of our new menu that focuses on serving great British food, cooked using local seasonal produce.

A very pleasant dining experience. We had lunch there. The menu is a little.more original than the usual pub menus. Mum enjoyed her roast belly pork and my sister enjoyed her seafood rissoto. I found the hasselback aubergine too "raw" in flavour. There was too much acidity in the tomatoes and overall little transformation of flavours.
We all enjoyed the brownies, which is one of the best brownies I have tasted in a long time. It has a rich dark chocolate flavour, a crunchy crust and a soft but firm centre. The sweetness of the vanilla ice cream married well with the bitterness of the chocolate

Went for food. The Cajun chicken burger lacked any Cajun spice (think it’s been softened for posh white palettes). Lettuce was unwashed and gritty. Chips weren’t seasoned and the ketchup was mostly vinegar. VERY pricey for what it is.
Atmosphere was loud - it wasn’t even that full. Combination of low ceilings and hard surfaces makes for a tinny din.
Access is awful. I was with a pram and a baby and it was difficult to get in through pebbles, steps and narrow doorways. I can’t imagine how you’d even get in with a wheelchair.
Probably wouldn’t go back. It seems to cater for a very

Love the Red Lion in East Haddon! As a family, we have been several times, and each time the food and customer service was excellent. Most recently, we booked in our 87 year old father and grandson in for a birthday lunch, which we wanted to pre-pay. The staff at the Red Lion made it so easy to achieve, and our two family members had a wonderful lunch. Couldn't be happier with this business.

This place always offers exceptional service. Its got the upper market pub feel about it and certainly feel that way. The food has always been great here, its possibly one of our most favourite places to eat out.
The waiting staff are always really at tentative and are always asking how things are and if they can get anything.
Likewise the food from the kitchen has never disappointed us. Full of flavour and there's a good choice on the menu .
10/10 would recommend.
