One Offs Limited were approached early 2015 to design a sculpture for Cancer Research to be displayed at the Southport flower show later that year. In conjunction with Mr. Neville Hymus, we came up with a plan to form; 5 No. Human DNA - Double Helix Sculptures. We put our best team to work and managed to spiral roll two 60 x 6 mild steel flat bars to form the frame joined together with 19mm tube to create the sculpture.
Designed by Broadbent Studio this masonry feature stands at the heart of Ormskirk town centre and at the entrance to the town's popular urban green space, Coronation Park. The design consisted of a large curved wall, flanked by tall carved posts 4m in height. Tying the tallest posts together is a curved and intricately designed ironwork feature.
Within the atrium of Liverpool Hope University's newest building we have installed a dynamic 4m diameter suspended sculpture. The sculpture is also representative of the students arriving and leaving Hope University; the university being good ground for growth, or a place that sends out to the wider world good seed.
This dramatic 16m sculpture serves as a beacon for the Methodist Publishing House headquarters in Peterborough. The bold imagery makes a pertinent and powerful statement of the mission and ministry of the House. The book's message and the outcome of the plough are the same: an anticipated rich harvest represented by the nine ears of wheat, three on each of the three stalks curving upwards.
