Services
There are a number of problems that can occur with glass and glass units in windows or doors. The glass in windows and doors can become misted and unsightly as they are subjected to the elements over time. Internal condensation can appear between the glass panels due to the deterioration of the sealed units.
While it is possible to replace failing units (1) with modern alternatives such as UPVC, some customers prefer to retain the character of the original window units. This particular metal window frame was badly corroded (2) and required full refurbishment. The customer's property was left secure while the window unit was sent for refurbishment and coating.
When glass manufacture was more of an art rather than a science, it was not possible to produce large sheets of perfectly clear glass. One solution was to produce smaller glass panels and to fit these in to either small window frames or in to a leaded frame structure.

Dorking Glazing Services offer window maintenance and repair service. These maintenance and repair services are offered for UPVC windows, aluminium windows and timber frame windows. Timber framed windows may require sash chords to be replaced as these can wear or snap over time. These old sash chords can be removed and replaced with new fittings.
