Paptrim Products were the first to introduce a range of aluminium roof edge trims which were patented in the 1950's by the Pitchmastic Asphalt Paving Company Ltd. In the following years 'Paptrim' became the brand name for all aluminium roof edge trims and established itself as the specifier's favourite.
In 1984, Pitchmastic decided to extend the range of roof edge trim products by introducing a range of GRP trims for both felt and asphalt applications. The total number of GRP profiles has now reached 32. In 2006, RBJ Reinforced Plastics Ltd (the manufacturers of Paptrim GRP roofing products) purchased Paptrim Products Ltd.

GRP roof edge trims offers the complete answer to waterproofing problems requiring a positive waterproof bond with either hot bitumen or asphalt. Low coefficient of thermal expansion prevents roof leakage caused by the splitting of roofing membranes at roof trim joints. GRP will not dent or be damaged in transit, nor will it corrode once installed and will last decades.
GRP roof edge trims should be fixed over the first layer of a built up roofing system at no more than 300mm centres, with corrosion resistant fixings no less than 25mm long. Our top quality GRP felt roof edge trims are manufactured using a polyester matrix providing a lightweight, highly durable and UV resistant product ideal for all of your waterproofing needs.
Wallflash/ termination bar should be fixed in mastic at no more than 300mm centres with corrosion resistant fixings no less than 25mm long. The top edge and joints should be sealed with Sikaflex 11FC adhesive sealant or a similar approved polyurethane mastic. Our GRP wallflash/ termination bar offers a neat and economic alternative to traditional lead flashing.
Our top quality aluminium roof edge trims are suitable for both felt and EPDM roofs. They are extruded to BS EN 755 specifications using Aluminium 6063 T 05. and supplied in a mill finish. This means that our aluminium roof edge trims are durable, resilient, unaffected by atmospheric pollution and they will not rust.
