Services
Union Safety Representatives make the workplace a safer place, and it is recognised that workers are twice as safe in a workplace where there are USRs. The network of CWU Safety Representatives throughout the various employers have an important role to play and members who have health and safety concerns should raise them in the first instance with their local Branch/ USR.
As we can see from its motto, the CWU regards workers' education as vital to building a strong and progressive union. The CWU not only provides a wide range of training and development opportunities for union reps and branch officers, but also actively encourages its members to take part in lifelong learning activities.
To the CWU, Lifelong Learning is about our members having the opportunity to learn what they want, at a time and place that suits them and at the best possible cost. To find a course: Look at the 'courses for activists' or 'learning for members' pages. Check out the courses available on Left Click and Left Click Plus - or talk to your branch ULR for courses you can take in your local area.
Please see below a further programme of online (virtual classroom) courses. Courses identified as "in-house" are being delivered informally via zoom and therefore will not result in accreditation. The Neurodiversity, Women's and BAME Leadership courses will be delivered in-house and applicants from all of the UK devolved nations will attend together.
We are in a race against time to respond to climate change, which left unchecked threatens everyone and will leave whole regions uninhabitable. Extreme weather events with lasting devastation are already destroying jobs and livelihoods. Workers around the world will invite their employers to discuss plans for resilience and sustainable business -plans which must include safety, jobs, emissions and a secure pathway for the future.
