I offer counselling and therapy in Penzance or Truro to individuals and couples.

Working 1-to-1 with people is the foundation of my practice. I have experience counselling people with a range of issues, around and including: depression, anxiety, stress, anger management, trauma, sexual orientation, confidence, self-esteem, decision making, communicating with others, and many other of life's difficulties, large and small.
When there is a crisis in a loving relationship, being vulnerable can feel overwhelming and intolerable. At this point people often feel they need the professional support of Couples Therapy. Some couples are seeking to find a way to overcome their problems and stay together; over the years I have developed an effective model of couples therapy which leads to couples enjoying more emotionally and sexually fulfilling relationships.
I have many years experience of working as a supervisor of counsellors who work in a range of settings such as GP practices, the addiction field, the voluntary sector and in private practice. I completed a supervision training at the Bath Centre for Staff Team Development in 2002. Increasingly I appreciate the richness which comes from the integration of different approaches within counselling.

I had no idea that CBT therapy would be so effective in my particular case.
What we do in counselling sessions depends on what you need as the work unfolds. To do this, it helps to be open-minded and flexible in how you and I respond to your situation. At the same time, there are all kinds of techniques and ideas that we can draw upon that ground the work, and can help you with some of the practical challenges you are facing in your life.
