Curtis Engineering was established in 1947 and operates predominantly throughout Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire and South Gloucestershire, but has also supplied buildings to Europe, the Caribbean and Gibraltar. We place great emphasis on quality of workmanship and reliability, which is evidenced by the high amount of repeat business we enjoy.
With extensive practical experience in fabrication and erection we have the capability to manufacture and erect steelwork for most types of structure. The majority of our work comprises portal frames and multi-storey beam and column structures between five and three hundred tonnes. We also undertake secondary steelwork projects including staircases, walkways, platforms and cat ladders.
Our Frome based business started in 1947 by Robert Curtis senior, with the manufacture of farm buildings and we continue to be fully involved with the agricultural market today. All buildings are designed and manufactured to individual customer requirements, from small hay barns to large grain stores.
We supply and fix most types of cladding from simple single skin steel and fibre cement through traditional built up systems to composite panelling and curved standing seam systems. Our site operatives have a wealth of experience in different arrangements and intricate flashing details. Contemporary composite cladding systems result in extremely quick progress on site allowing following trades an early start, which is essential in today's market.
