Fresh Start Living was founded in 2018 by Beth and Jon Miller, a husband and wife team based in Leeds. Having spent the past 15 years designing and renovating properties in our 'spare time' we thought we would use our acquired skills, knowledge and genuine passion for home improvement to help others make the most of their homes. Fresh Start was borne out of us making a fresh start as a family: changing location from London to Leeds and giving up our old lives and careers to work for ourselves.
Having carried out redesign, renovation and interior design work on a number of properties whilst always living on site, we know how important it is to carry out the right work in the right order with the right people to give your home and your life within it the fresh start it deserves.

Husband and wife interior design team. From refreshing one room to full home renovations, we understand you, how you live and design spaces to reflect your lifestyle and personality. Designing extensions and conversions, reconfiguring layouts to make the best use of your space, advising you on planning your works, through to room mood boards and product sourcing to complete your home.
Based in Leeds but covering Yorkshire and beyond, we offer interior design services that enable you to create a home that is individual to you. Some people want to hand over responsibility for the full interior design process, whilst others just need a bit of inspiration and help with ideas, so we tailor our approach to suit you.
Lots of us are looking to extend our homes to create more space. We are here to help you make the most of your home by designing the right extensions for you, whether that's a rear or side extension, single or double storey, loft conversions or basement conversions. Like all our projects, we tailor our services to meet your needs, but offer the services below.
Sometimes the space is already there, it just needs reconfiguring or some changes to the flow. Each project we work on is different so we can provide a cost per project or we also work on an hourly or daily rate. As a rough guide, the cost for these services would usually range from 1,000-2,000 depending on the number of floors and complexity.
Kitchens are more complex than other parts of the home and usually need more time to get it right. Although some kitchen companies offer design services for 'free' we believe that designing these spaces in the context of the rest of your home and how you want to live is really important to getting them right.

John and Beth brought some much-needed experience and clarity to our project. We wanted to completely refurbish and re-configure the ground floor around the views at the rear of the house. They were instrumental in providing a layout that suited our young family and creating the colour plalette that brough the colours from outside in.
Nothing was too much effort, they were always on hand to help or offer some advice when it was needed and we highly recommended them.

We had a vague idea of how we wanted to re-model our house but didn’t really know where to start. We had three small, dark rooms running along the back of our house, the kitchen, family and dining rooms. Jon and Beth listened to our wish list and created a design to completely open up the back of the house. As well as knocking through, new glazing has given us better views and access to the garden and much more light. The new design moved the kitchen form one side of the house to the other, something we would not have thought of. The new design has completely changed the way we live in our home

I am considering downsizing into a "compact" flat and was looking for ideas on how I could possibly remodel the interior to make it somewhere I could live in for the long term. Jon took the trouble visit my current larger house, then came up with a number of creative ideas for the flat, including some I don't think I would ever have thought of myself. So well worth getting in touch with.

We found Fresh Start by chance and glad we did.From start to finish Beth was friendly professional and on time! We sort of knew what we wanted for our Lounge refurbishment but Beth introduced ideas we hadn’t thought of pushed us colour choices and we now have the sleek contemporary space we were after. We would have no hesitation in recommending Fresh Start and they will be our first call on our next project.

Jon and Beth worked closely with us on a project to convert a former garage/storage space/utility room into a bedroom and accessible bathroom, whilst creating a combined laundry room and office space in an existing room.
They offered some good suggestions at the start of the project which changed our original plans for the better, created floor plans, mood boards, product lists, sourced trades and collated quotes. They remained involved throughout the project, helping to smooth the odd issue as the project progressed, and we're very pleased with the end result.
