Many kitchens have wooden work surfaces, these often get damaged by the day to day activities that occur in your kitchen. Hot pans can burn the surfaces, water marks are left from cups, glasses and around taps. Cutting and chopping also creates marks and scratches which will allow food and moisture to penetrate the surface causing bacteria to form.
Marble is a beautiful natural stone, its elegance has graced palaces around the world for thousands of years. This luxurious material is used as flooring, countertops and wall tiles and can be found in hotels, high end holiday homes and other properties throughout Cornwall and the South West. However this beautiful stone does have its cons it will scratch easily and is very sensitive to acids.
Limestone is another popular flooring found in homes and businesses in Cornwall and the South West. Limestone is sedimentary rock it often contains numerous well preserved fossil impressions. It is extremely acid sensitive comes in a variety of colours and can be honed or polished. It requires regular maintenance and like marble, granite and travertine it can be polished or honed to give you an amazing looking floor.
Travertine is part of the limestone family and is very popular flooring in Cornwall and the South West. It is formed in hot springs called Karst and is generally tan or beige in colour but can have reds and silver running through it. The characteristic holes you see in the stone are formed by water movement.

Mike repaired, sanded and lacquered our wooden floor in the living room/ diner in The Threshing Barn at East Trenean Farm, Looe.
The results were fabulous.
Although one of his machines let him down and needed a new part, he worked really late for us to ensure the job was finished on time.
Many Thanks

I was thinking about ripping out my carpet and buying a new one. Now the guys have done thier magic, it looks amazing, so no need to buy a new one. They went around removing all the little stains by hand then whizzed over with a big machine. Smells good too. Highly recommended and they clearly are experts!😁

Mike from Cornwall Floorcare recently restored a much neglected antique parquet floor in the lounge of my old farmhouse and he did an amazing job on the restoration. From start to finish (4 days) both Mike and his apprentice worked really hard and with exceptional care, to make sure that the floor was restored to perfection and to minimise any inconvenience to myself The machines used created no mess or dust and the floor is now back to as it should be and no longer has to be hidden under the dreaded rug. I will be using Cornwall Floorcare again to sort out the old Victorian tiles in another part
