Our long-established practice has a peaceful home on Painswick Road, just off Suffolk Road in the heart of Cheltenham. We are the oldest practice in town, moving to our current location in 1972. In that time, we have been upholding our reputation in delivering quality dentistry. We combine exceptional dental care with a friendly and warm approach, that helps our patients to relax when they visit our practice.
At Painswick House, we offer a wide range of dental treatments to help keep your teeth and gums strong and healthy so you can enjoy eating whatever you want, and feel confident about your smile. The best way to maintain your oral health is through regular appointments with the dentist. During these appointments, you can have the chance to discuss any further treatments.
Visiting us for regular dental check-ups is very important. It enables us to keep a close eye on what is happening in your mouth, and to spot potential problems at an early stage, often saving you time and money. We will ask if you've had any problems since your last visit so you can raise any concerns you might have.
Regularly visiting a hygienist will help you maintain healthy teeth and gums, as well as protecting your overall well-being, because poor gum health has been linked to more serious conditions, such as heart disease and diabetes. Hygienists are fully trained members of the dental team, who focus on preventing and treating gum disease by promoting good oral hygiene.
Fillings support structure of a damaged tooth, helping to prevent further breakage or sensitivity, and can be placed in the front or back teeth. As well as providing an effective repair for tooth decay or damage, composite (or white) fillings are also a natural-looking alternative to more obvious amalgam fillings.

I had a molar that suddenly played up and after reducing the bite ("no charge because it might not work") to no avail it blew up over a weekend. First time I have used the emergency service. Wow, if only the NHS gave this sort of service ! Mr Patel seemed genuinely keen to help and quickly too. When you are in severe pain that counts! Up front with the call out charge of £180. Well for two people (dentist plus nurse) and a whole Sunday morning gone at short notice I would want at least that. The price list shows a charge for extraction of from £155 so I could not expect that the extra cost for

Visited today along with my little boy for a new patient consultation. I had x rays, a thorough check up and a good explanation of what was going on with my teeth. We saw Shahil who was amazing with my little boy. I felt very relaxed and I usually hate going to the dentist after some really bad experiences. Lovely professional team. We were greeted at the door and our temperatures were checked. I felt very safe in terms of covid. Next appt booked already.

I have just had a white filling repaired which took 15 minutes to carry out. I went to pay and expected a charge of about £60 which is similar to my usual private dental charges at Bristol. I was horrified to be charged £155! This is agrossly excessive charge for a straight forward filing. My strong advice is to aways check their pricing before any procedure is carried out .

Painswick House is one of the best dental practices in Cheltenham. It’s a thriving group of like minded dentists, managed well. And a big thank you should go first to the receptionists who play such an important role front of house, both on the desk and on the phones. They’re always speedy and courteous and - importantly - warm and friendly. I’ve been going to my dentist at Painswick House, Lesley Price for decades - because she’s brilliant. She is unfailingly kind and gentle as well as highly responsible whether she is dealing with pressing, urgent care or discussing longer term issues

I have been a patient at Painswick house Dental Surgery for 30 years and highly recommend the practise. All the dentists are professional and dedicated, in particular I recommend Mrs Price who sees myself and my 2 children who actually really enjoy their check ups due to being given a friendly and gentle experience at the dentists.

A lovely traditional dental practice where the dentist and hygienists really care for the patients. I've had a couple of fillings sorted that were left neglected by another practice and given helpful tips by a couple of the hygienists who I have seen for routine care too. Would definitely recommend.
