I began my working life in nursing which I returned to after having my children. I then began a career in education, initially teaching lifeskills to adults with learning difficulties, later qualifying as a lecturer in Further Education and teaching in the Health and Social Care and Special Education Departments of local Colleges. I lectured in Counselling at various levels and I have also taught English, Communication and Lifeskills to men serving time in prison.
