Dorset Coffee
Dorset Coffee Company and their business was the subject of an article entitled 'Pots of Coffee' written by Mick Nosh of the Dorset County Magazine, continuing his series on Dorset's 'Gourmet offerings'. As coffee is our forte, we'll leave putting into word what we do to the professionals. In-the-know coffee fans will probably already have heard of The Dorset Coffee Company's, the oldest independent coffee roaster in Dorset.

Once based in Maiden Newton, they has upped sticks and relocated the business to the Duck Farm workshops at Puddletown, near Tincleton, where they installed their 40-year-old, but 'still working well' roasting machine. Self-taught enthusiast and Roastmaster Nigel Green has a true passion for coffee and, as he says: 'It took me eight years to get here.'

Fantastic range of coffees, and very reasonably priced. Very handy being able to choose your grind preference too. Free delivery is always nice as well.

Fantastic coffee consistently good... very efficient business..always helpful and able to deliver what is ordered... not often I find a coffee worth raving about but this one is it...Dorset Number 1 blend... they roast the beans freshly and put them in vacuum packs so the beans retain that fabulous smell... well priced for service and product received... if I could get such quality in a coffee when visiting a cafe I'd buy one more often... sadly I usually opt for a boring cup of tea as it's safer! Wake up cafes in Dorchester and Weymouth! Start selling decent coffee!

Bought three varieties on Bridport market.
Each had a great refreshing and distinct flavour with a deep and foamy crema. Made at home with our bean to cup machine. No complaints or issues. An Ethiopian, Kenyan Blue Mountain and a Dorset after dinner.

My partner spent £50 on some Blue Mountain Coffee whole beans a, a special treat, as I am very unwell and he wanted me to have a something that I can enjoy. The order was placed in early July and it turned up in August. I opened one of the two packs to be met by a musty smell with no aroma of freshly roasted beans. I poured out some of the beans and noticed they are covered in a white haze. I can't risk trying them due to my health problems. My partner tried contacting them by email and phone to no avail. I have sent four emails of which have all been ignored. We can't afford to write off £50

Had the misfortune of ordering a coffee from these guys at the Dorset chilli festival, the coffee was bitter & burnt, they used milk that had been frothed some time earlier and was sat going flat and cold. When i politely asked for one with fresh milk the "barista" had a very loud and embarrassing tantrum. Avoid this company!

Fantastic coffee, Dorset no 1 & almond amoretto are just superb. The decaff also has great taste.
Nigel is always helpful & provides a great service, so I always order a good supply & drop in when I'm in the area.
Lots of other coffee suppliers but Dorset Coffee remains the best & most consistent quality coffee I have found, & I've tried lots.

If you want incredible coffee, roasted to perfection then I can thoroughly recommend the Dorset Coffee Company. Respecting the size of business and effective communication we have had a continuous supply of great coffee for over four years.
Nigel (the proprietor) from the moment we met him has been professional, customer focussed and product passionate. He spent time blending coffees until we were content with a blend to suit our taste. He has since maintained the blends quality to perfection.
He has advised, helped when our coffee machine broke down (even lending us a machine) and been always

This is the best coffee I have ever tasted! No more 3rd rate nonsense at extortionate prices from the Supermarkets or even local cafes for me. This No. 1 blend is consistently superb. This very hard working family are providing a wonderful service and excellent product so locally - I will certainly spread the word - although I don't think the word needs spreading as good stuff usually speaks for itself!
