The Preseli Mountains of North Pembrokeshire is an area steeped in history, and reputed to have provided the mammoth bluestones for the inner circle of Stonehenge. With breathtaking views across the farmland of West Wales, towards the far tip of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the view from the Preseli Mountains is set out like an enormous mosaic of vivid colours and textures.
Our Welsh lamb and beef's distinctive quality has been recognised by the European Union (EU) due to unique regional characteristics, and has been awarded the coveted status of PGI. PGI designation was developed by the EC to encourage diverse agricultural production, protect product names from misuse and imitations, and also help you by giving out information concerning the specific character of the products.
Firstly, mix together the garlic, herbs, oil, seasoning, spring onions, and paprika - remember to keep the 1tbsp of the mixture for later. Now, add the steaks and fully cover in the mixture and leave to marinate for about 1 hour in the fridge. Next, fire up the griddle, pan, or BBQ - it must be hot to cook the perfect steak.
Put the Welsh beef mince, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic, and seasoning into a large bowl. Mix together thoroughly. Preheat the grill and cook the Welsh beef burgers for about 12 minutes until golden and cooked through - turning occasionally. Add the bacon rashers to the grill pan during the last 2 to 3 minutes of cooking - cook on side of rasher then place on top of the burger.
Place the quinoa into a pan and add around 300ml water, bring to boil, simmer for 10 minutes, remove from heat, and leave with lid on for 5 minutes. Heat the oil in a large wok or frying pan, add the meat strips and brown over a high heat - this should take about 2-3 minutes. Using the above guidelines, calculate your desired cooking time and then place the steak into the pan, under a hot grill, or over a preheated BBQ.
