The old school house has been welcoming guests for over 12 years and your host Maxine is very willing to share her wealth of knowledge and useful tips for things to do and places to see. So if you are planning to visit Devon or Cornwall we recommend our beautiful Old School situated on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.

Built in 1875 the Victorian Old School retains plenty of character together with its original bell tower and internal wooden beams. New bathrooms have been fitted; new flooring, double glazing throughout, upgraded heating and a newly surfaced car park have all been made to improve the guest experience.

Great location, plenty to do and see in the immediate area. We had a lovely room with a fantastic garden view . . . I spent chunks of time watching birds and rabbits. Maxine was very welcoming. I am normally not a breakfast person but have to say I enjoyed every mouthful . . . Especially the bacon. Will certainly return.

Very welcoming hosts. Hope to visit again. An exceedingly convenient location to base yourselves if you wish to explore Dartmoor. A lot of thought has clearly gone in to the interior design of the externally historic building.
