Lovingly restored, Hendall Manor Barns is a family owned, private and discreetly positioned dry hire wedding and events venue in the heart of the East Sussex countryside. Occupying an elevated position south of the Ashdown Forest, it is available for a wide range of events from exclusive use weddings, receptions and exhibitions to parties and creative workshops.
In the new era of working from home, it is also an ideal and spacious venue for bringing your team together occasionally, whether it is for serious brainstorming and project work or the rather gentler (but nonetheless important) goal of socialising and restoring a sense of company identity. Hendall, which opened its doors in late 2011, is a beautiful and discreetly located private venue suitable for a wide range of uses and events. This old working Dairy has been sympathetically restored and transformed into the venue we have today. We have now hosted numerous wedding receptions in our large and historic Stone Barn, as well as conferences, business meetings, charity events and many anniversary/birthday celebrations.

Hendall is easily accessible, being situated directly off the A26 four miles from both Uckfield and Crowborough. The larger towns of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Lewes, Haywards Heath and East Grinstead are all within easy reach.
These historic and beautiful buildings sit below Hendall Manor and its adjacent 17th century sandstone barn; the latter is used for holiday lets and short stays. Formerly at the centre of a dairy farm, all these redundant buildings were comprehensively refurbished between 2006 and 2011.
Hendall is approached directly off the A26 via a private drive and a new track leading to a newly re-clad Dutch barn that provides under-cover parking for 42 cars.From here, it is a moment's walk to the entrance where there is additional space for disabled parking and drop-offs. We are situated within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) with The Ashdown Forest a short distance to the north.

The Stone Barn is an impressive building, almost 100ft in length and is arranged on two distinct levels connected by steps and a ramp. The upper half of the building, dating from the mid-1800's, provides a large reception area in addition to the entrance. The slate flooring complements the sandstone and brick walls.
The Old Dairy, formerly the old milking parlour offers a flexible and comfortable conference/studio room. At just over 50ft in length, with its vaulted roof and old beams, this more intimate space lends itself perfectly to any number of business and creative uses. Tables and seating are provided for meetings, presentations and seminars.

I had an amazing time photographing a wonderful wedding few weeks ago (David Bige Photography). The team at Hendall Manor Barns were absolutely amazing. The venue is very well looked after and the owners have a really good eye for the details. I cannot wait to return for more wonderful weddings in the future.
Couple of tips for couples planning their wedding here:
Plan multiple photoshoots around the sun. Early the day I would suggest to have a walk around the pond stopping by the double swing. There are so many large trees to give soft light in the shadow so it's perfect during the day.

An absolutely stunning venue and a perfect team who made everything seamless. Honestly had the best day of my life at my wedding and wouldn't have been able to create such a wonderful day without their help. Very organised and straight to the point (for someone as indecisive as me, whist it can take getting used to, it is very beneficial to work with people who don't beat around the bush and tell it how it is). I can't praise the venue and team highly enough, I had so many people compliment me about the day and the venue itself, many people asking if I wouldn't mind if they could also get married

We cannot recommend Hendall Manor Barns enough. From our very first viewing, we knew that it was where we wanted to get married. It's such a beautiful venue, offering loads of gorgeous spots outside for photographs. The barn itself is really impressive on it's own, but the space absolutely allows you to make it what you want it to be, and give it the unique feel of your wedding day. (It is also very wheelchair friendly, which was really important to us!) Nicola, Peter, Viki, and Harriet went above and beyond to provide us with the very best service from day one. Our wedding was flawless thanks to Nicola and her team at Hendall, everything was meticulously organised and they were responsive and completely unphased by Covid restrictions and were very accommodating when we asked to postpone our wedding from April to August. The venue was stunning and the piggory and the accommodation were a great asset too. It was the most perfect day - thank you!

From start to finish Nicola and the team were fantastic. This was third time lucky for us due to the pandemic and WOW, everything happens for a reason!
Nicola took the reins and really knew how to make our wedding day perfect. It was everything we wanted and more, the venue couldn’t have been more of a dream! We were also able to visit Hendall before our wedding day multiple times, even for a test shoot with our photographer!
Everything ran smoothly on the day! My husband!! and I along with our guests had the most wonderful day!
We also stayed the night before and the night of our wedding

We got married at Hendall Manor Barns recently, on the third time lucky after two previous delays due to Covid.
Nicola and everyone at Hendall were absolutely fantastic helping us arrange alternative dates when we needed to and being on hand for any questions. Even on the day itself they were on hand to make everything run smoothly, not that we had any problems at all.
We had heard of several nightmare stories about other venues, when couples had to rearrange their big day, but there was absolutely none of this with Hendall.
The venue itself is a stunning location and lots of guests commented

My wife and I could not have been happier with having Hendall as our venue. Nicola and her team were fantastic all the way through and were super flexible and understanding during the pandemic. We had our wedding here earlier this month and we had the best day ever! Everything about the place is perfect. It is beautiful and so well looked after and Nicola and Peter are just brilliant - so helpful and efficient. The accommodation on site is fantastic - I stayed in the cottage with my bridesmaids the night before the wedding and we loved it. I cannot recommend this venue enough!
