Operating from premises eight miles west of Edinburgh, on the A71, the business is ideally situated for servicing contracts and workload throughout the central belt and the rest of Scotland.
Services
Hutton & Read Ltd is one of Edinburgh's leading Main Contractors & Purpose Made Joinery Manufacturers. What sets us aside from our competitors is our highly skilled, self motivated workforce backed up with an experienced team of managers and supervisors. Working closely with our clients we produce a quality product within an agreed budget and time scale.
Our definition of Main Contractor is, a contractor which will oversea all aspects of the project from planning, cost control to project managing. Throughout our time in business we have continually been involved in this sector of the industry. Working from our newly refurbished workshop situated on the out skirts of Edinburgh, allows us to easily supply purpose made joinery items throughout the central belt of Scotland.
The second phase of the refurbishment & alterations of a shop on Lawnmarket was completed. These offices in the west end of Edinburgh were transformed into a suite of luxury apartments. This two-storey apartment in the west end of Edinburgh was completely refurbished - including a bespoke Hutton & Read kitchen.
The pupils of the Steiner School were actively involved with the design of the Coach House refurbishment and extension. Hutton & Read have been working with ourselves over the last nine months to deliver a new double garage and cottage building. We started the internal reconstruction of this 18th century house in the Borders in August.
We were asked by the National Trust for Scotland to convert two flats into two two-storey properties in the historic centre of Culross in Fife. These are listed properties - the oldest in Culross - so we had to work closely with the National Trust to ensure that the unique character was preserved. We used a wide range of traditional methods and skills for this job, in keeping with the age of the property.
