Kings Carpets is a local family business with a history of excellent service. Established by Laurie and Peggy Harvey in 1963, the very first shop began at 86 High Street, Ilfracombe. Despite not initially being much of a grand affair, from the very first day we specialised in one product: carpet. Combining total commitment - including Laurie selling the carpet in the day and fitting it the same night - the company grew quickly and was able to employ its own team of fitters and open another shop in Barnstaple.

Kings Carpets and The Carpet Mill are on the Pottington Business Park on the outskirts of Barnstaple in North Devon. You will see the warehouse from the main A361 Braunton Road running from Barnstaple to Braunton, opposite the Co-Op supermarket and adjacent to Bed Kingdom. From start to finish the service from King's Carpets was fantastic. Jack in the office was very helpful and the gentleman who came to measure the rooms was brilliant, always looking to save me money by using the off cuts from one room to carpet the stairs. The two carpet fitters did a great job and I am very happy with the finished product.

Purchased 3 bedroom carpets with this highly regarded local company!
There was a great selection of choice!
However, being a single mum of 4 young boys I was clueless!
Luckily a very friendly young man (jack I think) was extremely knowledgable & helpful recommending several carpets to fit my needs of hard wearing etc
As well as falling way within my budget!
He was patient & understanding whilst I dilly dallied!
The carpet we settled on was perfect & fit to a high standard!
Can not fault this company or their staff!
Now for landing & stairs! 👌🏻
