Durness Golf Club
If your idea of finding a links golf course involves an adventure, remoteness, turquoise ocean & sandy beaches then Durness GC could well be the golf experience you have been looking for. Recently voted in 2020 by Golf Magazine USA - in its first ever World's Top 50 / 9 Hole Courses (12th) and in Golf World UK's Top 100 Courses 2021 in GB and Ireland (65th) - your unforgettable golf journey can now begin.

The northern delights started at the Durness course, where Penn giggled at an opening hole that played like the first stage of an alpine ascent, with a fairway that might have come with carabiners. If you have been on the North Coast 500, we lie right on this famous route 57 miles north west of Lairg; with the closest main airport south east of us at Inverness.

What a fantastic 9 hole course! We weren't expecting much, just fabulous views, but the course was great! Challenging and the latter holes got better and better. Good greens and well maintained tee boxes. For only £20 in an honesty box. We loved it!!

A challenging course in spectacular surroundings. The wind was up and that definitely makes the course a lot tougher! The greens ran well and were firm. One hole my 8 iron went 105 yards, another my 3-wood took me to the back of the green on the downwind, downhill 377-yard par 4 8th - a windy, enjoyable challenge with views everywhere you look.

Just to clarify, I visited but didn't play. I thought the £30 for 18 holes and£20 for 9 excessive. I looked at the green next to the clubhouse and it looked in really good condition but the course looked like you needed ropes but as for views, you couldn't beat it. Spectacular.

Worth the 2 1/2 hour drive from Inverness for the views alone. A tough opening 3 holes uphill and into the wind. The 6th is a magical hole and everyone knows about the final hole. Hit it straight and true, you'll not go wrong. A very picturesque course in fine condition

The most stunning golf course we'll worth the journey. Plus a warm and friendly welcome from the course manager.

Played nine holes with husband, whose first time it was on a proper golf course after spending many months in the driving range. Lovely little course with some interesting holes (especially the ninth/eighteenth!), but sheep are absolutely everywhere (and their droppings), so if you're used to a pristine golf course and would complain otherwise, this one isn't for you. We aren't fussy however, and had an absolutely fabulous morning.

Absolutely brilliant golf course well worth the long drive. Played 9 holes had lunch and played another 9 from different tees and it was spectacular again. Wow what a scenery.
