On this site you will find examples of good English, Scottish & French clocks and barometers. The stock comprises longcase (grandfather), bracket, wall and mantel clocks, and wheel and stick barometers. In longcase I have mahogany, oak, walnut and sometimes lacquered - both brass and painted dial.
I buy principally well proportioned clocks with well figured veneers, stringing or banding, and interesting dials such as moon, automaton and strike silent.Clocks are restored in our own workshops, as I have been doing for over 40 years. I try to keep the fine patina and colour acquired by generations of owners, and certainly do not strip and re-polish except where absolutely necessary.
