Dan Curtis together with his father and brother founded Dolce in 1999 after years of managing schools catering for both public and private sector caterers. Dan's three sons also joined the company with the eldest in operations, the middle programming what is now known as School Grid and the youngest in sales.
As our understanding of food evolves, as well as the tastes of those we serve, we aim to offer both a popular meal choice and an experience that helps children and young adults adventure in food. Science is providing new insights into the effects of nutrition on our health, as well as the food choices we make in our early years.
Our friendly and dedicated team of over 2000 employees are based nationally across school kitchens from the Scottish borders all the way to the South Coast and within our head offices in Yorkshire, Cheshire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire.
In 1999, after a decade of working in both public and private sector schools catering, Dan Curtis, Chairman, set out with his father, brother and three sons to produce restaurant quality meals within the school kitchen and thus began Dolce, a three generation family firm with a passion for providing good health food with the best customer care. Our passion is for children and being the best caterer in education.

Realising the untapped skills within school kitchens, we set out over 20 years ago to produce restaurant quality meals, freshly cooked from raw ingredients. Our quality offer surpassed the nutritional guidelines long before the government announced them and before the formation of the School Food Trust.
At Dolce, we believe in making the lunch service a fantastic experience for the pupils, parents and schools we serve. By providing a great range of high quality produce, ensuring each pupils choice is met, allowing parents to decide on their level of involvement and removing all administration from the school we can be a key asset to school life.

Appalling providers of school dinners. They have served meat to my children on many occasions when clearly the vegetarian options were chosen by us online. Our dietary needs have not been met and we have no confidence in dolce. Internal investigations lead to no real outcome, as the "errors" keep occurring. Consequences could have been fatal, had the children had allergies! Absolutely ridiculous. Be wary if your childs school providers are dolce.

A joke of a company. So called Area Managers who have no idea how to cook or run a kitchen correctly. One of them had to ask how to cook chilli con carne on a conference call. This doesn’t fill you with confidence does it. Forgotten more about cooking than what these fools know. HR Manager turning up to a disciplinary meeting and not thinking to take notes. Absolutely hilarious. No wonder they’re shedding contracts all over. Keep up the good work

I sent an email to Dolce regarding a school dinner query I had about transferring money from one inactive (leaver) account to an active account. Within ten minutes I had a reply to the email and the money had been transferred from the inactive to the active account. Excellent customer service! Correspondence was very polite and professional and I can't reiterate how impressed I was by their promptness and professionalism (Thanks to Chloe in Customer Care!). Thank you Dolce!

Critical: Quality
I would give zero stars for this rubbish school meals company if I could. Today we were given our dinner really late, when afternoon lessons had started. It was served cold and soggy. I got three tiny nuggets and some soggy chips. I was not impressed at all and I came home very hungry.
