High definition thermoforming is a cost-effective process for manufacturing custom made and mass-produced products from sheet plastic materials. During the production process, the sheet material is heated to a softening point and is then deformed in various ways to achieve the necessary product shape.
During the thermoforming process, the necessary shape of a product is achieved by heating the plastic sheets and forming them into a female or over a male mould. At AV Engineering we provide a flexible in house mould making facility that allows us to manufacture high quality, cost effective products.
CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining is an integral part of the manufacturing, where computers are used to control machine tools. A computer program is generated for each product directly from the client's desired model and the machines using this program control the contours and the features of the product.
Prototyping is a process of creating a product sample from the desired material in order to test its functionality, properties and environmental requirements, before launching a small scale or mass production of that product. Prototyping can save time and money before committing to production by carrying out a feasibility study, where the material or the application can be assessed.
