Located in an excellent place in the town, free parking a two minute walk away in the castle car park, the staff were very friendly , and strived to make our visit as pleasant as possible, nothing was too much trouble, and very informative on places to visit. The room was in keeping with the age of the hotel, if you want mod cons then go elsewhere, we felt at home, due to living in a very old cottage. The room was cleaned daily, and we had fresh towels daily. The food served was very large portions, and of an excellent standard. Breakfast was always super quick, and filled us up till tea time!

Congratulations Team Dobbins. Excellent value Sunday Steak & Stay Deal. Room ready early. Great customer service especially the lovely ladies working the bar & restaurant who never missed a beat throughout, (4.30-8.30pmish) please pass our thanks on to them & also the kitchen staff & chef for the best roast beef dinner & the rest ever!! Loved the cosy fires lit on check out & very considerate parting words from the gentleman on reception. Little things 👏🏻

We had Afternoon Tea at The Dobbins on the 4th August. It was a special treat for my Mum's birthday. The Afternoon Tea was amazing but we would have preferred if They used a different dining area for Afternoon Tea and not to be in with people who have called to get something to eat. The people at the table beside us talked non stop to us when we were there for a Special Occasion it would have been nice to be in Separate Dining Areas. The Afternoon Tea itself was just amazing and absolutely delicious. If we had been offered a separate dining area I would have given The Dobbins 5*. I would like to

Friendly staff and a reasonably priced, comfortable room. The breakfast was delicious. The 500 year old building is steeped in fascinating history. I would stay again. Thank you to the lovely staff for making our stay so wonderful. My only recommendation for the building is to use a lighter tog duvet in summer, although we were there during a heatwave and it's usually much cooler.
